SOLEIL POV

"Hello?" I answered the phone.

"Lay, it's me" My mother said.

"What? What number you calling from?" I asked.

"I had to change my number so this my new one." She said.

"Oh.. Okay." I said.

"How's the baby?" She asked, referring to baby TJ.

"He's fine." I said.

Really wasn't trying to have a conversation with her so I was a little dry, not even gone lie.

"When can I see him?" She asked.

"I don't know, I'll have to think about it." I said.

"Aww come on Lay, I've changed. I'm not the same woman and I wanna be in my grand son's life." She said.

"We'll see." I said.

"Okay, okay. I'll take that." She said.

She gone have to.

"I wanna talk to you about something in person." She said.

"Is it bad?" I asked.

"It's bad to me but I'm sure everyone else is okay with it." She said.

"Where you at?" I asked.

"The program. I'm two months clean Lay." My mom said.

"That's good, I'm proud of you. I'll come see you but it has to be when Tremaine comes home so he can watch the baby." I said.

"Okay. I love you." She said.

"I'm sure." I replied. "Send me the address to the place you're staying at." I added.

"Okay." She said before I hung up the phone.

Two hours later

I pulled up to the place my mother was staying at which was some kind of rehabilitation center. It was almost an hour away.

I got out the car and looked around, putting my purse over my shoulder.

A part of me was thinking why am I even here?

But she wants to talk, so I'll hear whatever it is she has to say.

But she still ain't gone see my son.

Sorry not sorry.

I walked inside the building seeing two women at the front desk, and I said "Hello.. I'm uh.. Here to visit someone."

"Oh okay, great. Who is it that you're visiting?" One of them asked me.

"Ayesha.." I said saying my mom's full name.

Not putting my mom's full name on here, just her first name, but y'all get the point.

"Oh yes, she's out by the pool. She literally just went there out back." The lady said.

There's a pool here?

Hmm.

"Where's the pool if you don't mind me asking?" I asked.

"Go all the way down the hall on your left, then turn right at the last door." She said pointing towards the hall.

"Thank you." I said.

"Absolutely." She replied as I started heading down the hall, looking around.

Heard people talking and laughing as I got to the end of the hall, and I turned right, opening the door.
