SOLEIL POV

"Oh hey dad" I said opening the door seeing him standing there with a bouquet of pink lilies.

"Wassup baby girl, these are for you" He said handing them to me and I smiled.

"Really? Aww thank you" I said.

"I thought of you this morning and got them. I know being a new mom is tough but you doing yo thang Nook. And I'm very proud of you." He said and I poked out my bottom lip.

"This is so sweet thank you dad" I said giving him a hug. He then walked in the house and I shut the door behind him before walking into the kitchen.

I grabbed my vase and filled it up with water, putting the flowers in there. "So what brings you by? Everything okay?" I asked.

"Yeah everything's coo it's just.. I don't know if you heard but I did have a conversation with your mother." He said.

"I heard. She told me" I said.

"It's like, it didn't go bad but it wasn't good either. I felt bad when she started crying and saying the things she said but I was only being honest with her" My dad said.

"Mhm" I said.

"And I don't want you to be mad at me over the conversation I had with your mother especially because y'all are getting y'all relationship together" My dad said.

"Dad you thought I would be mad at you?" I asked.

"Yeah a little" He said.

"Dad I am not Desireè. I'm not upset that you and mom are not back together or nothing like that. Everything going on right now is between y'all and I want what's best for you both. So don't worry. I'm not upset, plus I love you and Diana together." I said shrugging.

"Coo... Coo. I told Ayesha we could be coo and just be friends but she wasn't wit that. I don't know. Our relationship is complicated. I'll always love yo mama and she knows that. But right now ain't the time for us, at least that's what I think." My dad said.

I could tell he's been thinking long and hard between my mom or Diana.

My dad got this soft spot for my mom, so I can definitely tell it's weighing on his mind.

I'll be there for him through whatever decision he makes.

"Well whatever you decide to do, I'm riding with you. You know that." I said.

"I just don't wanna hurt nobody." He said.

"I know. But unfortunately in this situation, someone is gonna be hurt. Because both of them want you. You know?" I did honestly.

"Yeah I know, that's what sucks." He said rubbing his face.

"But dad you do whatever you see fit. Whatever is gone make you happy at the end of the day. No regrets." I said.

"You right. I just got a lot to think about, and I'll figure it out. Thank you baby" He said kissing my forehead.

"No problem" I said with a smile.

"Where's lil man? I wanna see my grandson before I dip" He said.

"Oh, he went with Tremaine to the store. They literally just left" I said.

"Oh aight, next time cause I gotta go. But I'll call you later Nook" He said to me as he gave me a hug.

"Love you dad" I said. "I love you more" My dad said back before letting me go, and I walked with him out the door.

I needed to smoke this wood I rolled up, so I sat down on the front porch, pulling it out of my pocket along with my lighter.

I lit the blunt and put it to my mouth, inhaling down my lungs before exhaling while thinking.
