SOLEIL POV

"Wassup Nook" My dad said as I opened the door for him.

"Hey dad" I said giving him a hug.

"I brought some things for my grand son, where he at?" He asked as I let him in the house.

"He went to the store with his father" I said.

"Ohhh okay, okay coo. This just some new shoes and some outfits for baby boy" He said.

"Aww that's so sweet! Thank you!" I said looking through the bags.

"These are so cute" I said pulling out the shoes.

"You know, had to get him right" My dad said laughing a little.

"I wanted to uh.. Talk to you" He said.

"Have a seat, everything alright?" I asked.

"Oh yeah fasho, it's just... Have you talked to yo mama?" He asked.

I chuckled and said "Mhm."

"Why you laughing?" He asked as he laughed a little under his breath.

"Cause I know where this is going." I said.

"You do?" He asked.

"Mhm. You wanna know if she mentioned you and Diana to me" I said.

"Man, she found out but me and Diana somehow and she threatened Diana and said all kinds of craziness. I just wanna make sure she ain't gone follow through wit them threats, I ain't got time for games." My dad said.

"Well, she was mad and in the moment. I'm pretty sure she not gone do whatever she said she was gone do. When we spoke about it, she just kind of... Expressed her feelings. She honestly didn't say anything bad about you or anything like that. She just expressed how she felt." I said.

"And how does she feel?" My dad asked.

"She's just a bit hurt and affected by your relationship with Diana." I said and my dad smacked his lips.

"I don't understand why. We haven't been together in years plus I lowkey waited and waited on yo mama to get clean and she wouldn't. Now she's getting clean and that's great but it's too late for me now. I'm in a relationship and I am happy where I'm at. You feel me?" My dad said.

"Yeah I feel you. I told her she'll find her person." I said.

"Your mama and I had a connection that won't ever be duplicated. Ever. I ain't tryna dismiss that at all. But... It's just not like that for us anymore. She reached out to me yesterday, I haven't responded yet but she wants to talk in person." He said.

"Are you gonna do it?" I asked.

"I'm not sure. I don't want Diana to feel no typa way. I think I'ma talk to her first before I make my decision." My dad said.

"Yeah I'd suggest that. Just so there won't be no problems or weirdness between y'all." I said.

"So we'll see." He said shrugging.

"I love you, thank you for these gifts!" I said to him as I hugged him and he hugged me back saying "I love you too baby. Ain't no thang."

"I gotta get going but I just wanted to make sure I dropped these off. I'll call you tomorrow." He said.

"Okay" I said.

"Aight baby I love you" He said as he was heading for the door.

"I love you more." I said closing and locking the door behind him after he left.
