Chapter 9

Homura walked down to the fields with a basket, filled with food, and a blanket. She sighed and put down the blanket and placed the basket on it. She laid down and let the heat of the sun wash over her. "Who are you?" A voice suddenly commanded. "Homura Nameikaze. Who are you?" She asked with her eyes still closed. It sounded like a boy a bit older then herself. "Neji Hyuga" he said curtly. "Hyuga? Can I ask you something?" She asked turning over and looking up at a tall boy with his long brown hair tied back loosely and fringe kept back by bandages.

"What?" He asked crossing his arms. She giggled and stood up. She slowly walked over to him and poked his nose. "Are you a ninja? You appeared sooooooooo quickly!" She giggled making fun of him. He glared at her and said "I'm training to be one". "Ok! Question number two! Can you help me with my Byakugan? I really need help!" She begged, with big puppy dog eyes. "Only Hyuga have Byakugan! Why do you?" He asked surprised. "I've got special eyes!" She said sitting down and gesturing him to do the same. He sat down reluctantly and starred at her.

"What? Do I have something on my face?" Homura asked puzzled and wiping her face. "No but I never heard of anyone outside of the Hyuga clan having the Byakugan" he said accepting the sushi she offered him. "I have something called Shishigan. It allows me to control all elements and allows me to use all eye types. I've managed to master the Sharingan and Rinnegan" Homura said smiling at him. "Wow! That amazing!" Neji breathed starring at her. "What's with the bandages?" She asked sending him a kind eye-twinkle.

He cliched his fists and growled "my clan is horrible. Why father was offered up for sacrifice instead of my uncle?". She looked at him with sad eyes. 'That's not true. You father, Hizashi Hyuga, twin to Hiashi Hyuga, offered himself up for sacrifice' Homura thought remembering to horrible experience from her past of being the Fourth's daughter. "The leader of the cloud and Hokage-sama made an agreement to join the two countries in friendship. Everyone was there. Everyone expect for the Hyuga clan who where celebrating a birthday. The eldest daughter and my cousin was turning four.

That night a thief broke into the household and tried to steal the girl, most likely so they could be in possession of the Byakugan. My uncle stopped them and the thief was reviled to be the leader of the cloud. A fight then broke out, to keep the peace the murderer was to be killed, an eye for an eye to say. To 'protect' the Hyuga clan my father was offered up for the bargain instead of my uncle, and I was branded with this" he said taking off the bandages and showing her a green symbol. It made her feel sick. She had often been told how cruel the Hyuga could be. She growled "an eye for an eye just makes the whole world blind!" He looked at her with surprise in his eyes. She just smiled "well it's true".

He nodded and smiled slightly. "Do you want some more?" She asked offering him some more sushi. He nodded took some then said "after this we start training". She smiled and thanked him, while setting out from inside the food basket.

~ A few days later

"Brat! Wake up!" A rough voice commanded as Homura sat up and looked around. "Hello sensei! 2 more hours" she said rolling over. "No! We and Nara-San are going on a peace mission! Up now!" Ikibi said ripping off her sheets. "Where to?" She asked. "Hidden Mist. Now let's go!" He growled at her getting impatient. "Oh! I have to meet someone there soon anyway!" She said as he stopped and starred at her. "Who?" He asked curiously. "Kisame-Kun! He lives there dummy!" She said pushing him out of her room.

She wrote a quick note and sent it with her hawk she had trained. "Don't come back. Ikibi-sensei, Nara-San and I will be there soon" she said opening the window. She then changed into a pair of pants and a black shirt with a blue bolt of lighting on it.

"That's rather casual don't you think?" Ikibi asked as she arrived at the gates. "Mei-sama is kind and she knows that I don't like girly stuff" Homura said smiling. The other nin looked at me in surprise. "Hokage's orders no-one know Shikaku" Ikibi said looking slightly startled himself. Shikaku nodded and turned to start walking. "I don't think you wanna go there Shikaku-San! There is a-". A trap sprung out for underneath him and he was lifted into the air by his ankle. "-Trap" Homura said laughing. "What a drag" he sighed before cutting himself down and continuing walking, gesturing for them to follow. All this happened as a pair of yellow orbs chuckled happily.
