Chapter 27

Homura and Shikamaru were standing inside the 5th Hokage's office, the Kazekage was standing along side the busty blonde woman. "It is my belief, that since the Chūnin exams where not properly completed, there should be no new Chūnin, but this man here believes that you both have shown the proper courage and skills to move you forward to Chūnin. I respect this man's views and so I declare you both Chūnin, you just have to read and sign this slip of paper, and then if you have any questions I will answer them" Tsunade said slowly. Both took a slip of paper and read and signed it quickly. "Any questions?" The blonde asked. "None here Hokage-sama. I'll be seeing you around I'm sure" Shikamaru said turning and leaving.

"I would like to speak to you, privately, I'm sorry sir" Homura said bowing to the Kazekage. "No problems, I'll be taking my leave now. I leave Konha in your capable hand Tsunade" the man said bowing and disappearing. "What is it?" The older woman asked. "It has been my plan for many years to go out into the world once I became Chūnin. The Third had allowed me passage once that happened, but the Third is no longer Hokage. So I now ask you, lend me five years outside this villages restraints. If I do not come back, mark me a missing nin and hunt me" Homura said looking dead into the elders hazel eyes. "I have heard of this, and I know your teammates, Naruto and Sasuke are out training with Orochimaru and Jiariya, and of course Sakura is training with me. So you are on your own. Are you sure you want to do this? For five years? Are you sure you want to out your reputation on the line? If so then yes I will allow you, Homura Nameikaze, to leave on a five year leave. And be fair warned if you do not return I will hunt you down, personally" Tsunade said pulling out the girls file and marking it 'inactive'. "Please hand in your headband I will keep it safe while you are gone" the older blonde said. "Hai Hokage-sama! I wish you good fortune with the village!" The young redhead said turning in her headband, which was around her neck, and ran out the office.

Homura waited until dark to leave. She, of course, left a note explaining what was happening behind in the usual place so, if Naruto or Itachi went looking for her they would know. What she didn't know was Kiba was choosing this time to take Akamaru for a walk. They collided near the gate and Homura brushed herself off. "Where are you going? Are you going on a mission?" Kiba asked. "No. And I don't know where I'm going" she said helping him up. "W-what do you mean?!? You aren't leaving are you?" He asked. "Yeah. But I'll be back in a while... Hopefully" the redhead said looking longingly at the gate. "Please don't go!" The brunette pleaded jumping in front of her. "Look I'm sorry... But I'm on a-" Homura was stopped mid-sentence by a pair of soft gentle lips. "I can't let you go! There are other ninja out there!! That'll steal you away! Please stay!" Kiba pleaded again once they broke apart. "I'm sorry. I swear I'll come back" she whispered swiftly pressing a pressure point in his neck and knocking him out.

She gently dragged him over to the bench as Akamaru whine at her feet. "Look after him boy. Promise me you will" Homura pleaded. The pup nodded and jumped onto his owners stomach guarding him until he woke, hours latter. Homura kissed the pup head and ran out the village, trying hard not to feel so guilty.

"You haven't become a rouge have you?" Zetsu asked making Homura jump. "No I haven't! I am on a temporary leave!" She restored looking over her map again. "We saw what happened. And frankly that was a bitch move, leaving him on the bench. Black Zetsu! She had to! It was still bitchy" they said. "Yeah I know. But I didn't want him beacon ring a rouge just for me" she said putting away her map and heading westerly, away from The Leaf. "Where are you going to go?" They asked. "There is a town up ahead I should be able to stay there for a while before continuing-what was that?" She asked as something white flashed in the corner of her eye. She jumped to a tree branch and followed it to an opening in the ground. The white thing was a medic ninja in a lab coat. "A 'experimenter' bet you it's on humans" she muttered. She snuck inside and followed him down to a cell.

"How are you feeling Jūgo?" The guy asked. "Fine today sir. How are you?" Jūgo asked. "Ok. No anger today? No depression? No instincts to kill?" The man asked. "No sir. Will I be let out soon?" Jūgo asked. "No. We still need you" the man said, making Homura grit her teeth. The man walked off two minutes later and Homura crept up to the cell. "Mr. Jūgo, these bastards have held you long enough. With you permission I could let you out" she said. "I can't come out. I have the tendencies to lash out and kill anyone in my way. I am better in here" Jūgo said. Homura unlocked the cell and went inside anyway. "I don't particularly care. By the sound of it you've probably can't remember the sun. Out we come!!" She cried pulling the orange haired, 16 year old to his feet and pulling him out of the cell and into fresh air.

"Is this grass?" Jūgo asked kneeling down and touching the green stuff with his large hand. "Yes. Now. Do you wish to join me in my travails? It's only been a couple of days but It's kinda lonely" Homura preposed holding out her hand. "You want me to come along with you? Even though I might accidentally kill you?" He asked, eyes widening. "Yes, and I've only just noticed, but hell you are tall!! Your 16 right?" She asked looking up at him from her smaller height. "Yes I am 16 and yes I would like to join you in your travails!" He said smiling at her. "Ok! Let's go! Before the nutjobs come looking for you!" Homura said jumping up to the tree tops, Jūgo followed clumsily and slowly the jumped through the forest, making their way to the village.
