Naruto: Rewritten

Chapter 41

Kiba sat quietly observing the red-haired ninja, worry etched into every part of his face. It had been two mouths since the attack and it had been 1 mouth, 29 days, 2 hours and 32 minutes since Homura had fallen unconious.

"Hey, Kiba? Are you awake?" Sakura asked, entering the small room. Kiba grunted in response, refusing to take his eyes off of Homura. "Look Kiba, I have to bathe her now, could you please go get something to eat?" Sakura asked.

Kiba stood, walking out of the room and sitting down next to the door. He waited for Sakura to finish so he could go back in.

"Hey Kiba, I brought you some food" Naruto yelled, running up to the depressed nin. Kiba shrugged off the food, ignoring the blond. Naruto sighed, this had been going on ever since Homura fell into the coma. Kiba had refused to eat or drink, he hadn't bathed in ages and he almost straggled a nurse when she tried to remove him from the room.

Sakura burst from the room, looking slightly distressed but also relieved. She ran down the hall without so much as a glance towards the two boys. Naruto ran after her while Kiba burst through the room.

"Oh, hey. How are you?" A frail voice asked. Kiba's eyes widened, his body shook with shock as he stared at the girl opposite of him. "Well? Are you gonna say anything?" Homura asked, beaming at him.

Kiba ran across the room and pulled her into a hug, tears brimming his eyes. "Heh. Good to see you too" she replied, weakly hugging him back. Kiba pulled away from the hug and smashed his lips against hers, she stilled for a second before responding and wrapping her arms around his neck.

"Don't ever do that to me again!" Kiba demanded after they separated. Homura nodded, blushing furiously. "I mean it! I haven't slept properly for over a mouth! I've been surviving on my chakra alone! You scared me!" Kiba sobbed, pulling Homura into a hug again.

Homura patted his back tenderly, as the door burst open and Naruto came in with a worry stricken face.

"Hello Nee-Chan, good to see you're awake!" Naruto cried, his face melting into one of utter relief. Homura smiled at him warmly, while still comforting a near-asleep Kiba.

"He's been worried sick ya know. So has Kakashi-Sensei and myself" he said, eyes burning scornfully at Kiba. "Naruto-Nii, quit it!!" Homura whined playfully.

Homura sighed, wishfully looking out the hospital room's window. Kiba had made her stay there for a further month or so until he was completely sure she was healed. She had watched the city around her slowly get built back to decency, though Konoha was no-where near complete, there was still the gaping hole they needed Homura to fix.

"Hey, I'm back" Sakura said, walking into the room. "Hey Saku-Chan, How's Kiba and the new ninja?" Homura asked. "Kiba is doing fine and Sasori has sent for Gaara's Shinobi so they'll be arriving to help in a few days, also Kakuzu as been a big help with most injuries. And Deidei and Hidan are so adorable!! They look after all the kids and it's just too friggen cute!!!" Sakura squealed.

Homura held back giggles, this was a scene she had to see. "Anyway~ you're free to go, your health has never been better" Sakura said. Homura smiled widely before jumping out of the bed and grabbing her clothes that Kiba had washed and mended for her.

Sakura led Homura to the main part of the hospital and they walked past a group of sleeping kids.

"Hey Homura! Good to see you!" Deidara whispered. "Hey, I've been told that you and Hidan have been looking after the kids" Homura whispered back. "Most of the kids have been reunited with their parents. We think that this lot where either orphans before or lost their parents from the attack" Hidan said adjusting a toddler on his lap, so the child's back wasn't bent.

"Poor things... I'm sure someone will take some in. I'd be glad to if I knew if my house was ok, I've got more then enough rooms" Homura sighed, patting a whimpering kid's head.

"Yeah un. But we're getting most kids a place to stay. Half this lot have adoptive parents right now, they're coming to pick they up soon. You should go fix that gaping hole in the middle of Konoha" Deidara said. "Oh? I see how it is! I'll just go then" Homura replied, acting hurt.

"Ahh shut up un!" Deidara said, rolling his eyes. Homura giggled lightly and walked over to Sakura, who was waiting for her near the entrance.

"I'll tell Kiba you're open for kids" she said with a wink. "Shut up" I muttered, a deep blush settling on my cheeks. Sakura giggled lightly and led the way to the constitution site for the massive hole.

"Sire are you ok?" A scared voice asked. "Perfectly insane. Bring out the dead we've collected, I have a jutsu I wish to perform on some of them" The Master crackled. "Um, all of them?" The nin asked. "Every last one!!" The Master screamed, sending the nin through the door and off the find the storage rooms.

"I won't let you get away from me again Homura. Never again! Let's see you well you react when Mummy and Daddy are right up in your face!!!" He crackled. "Oh~ you won't be so brave then huh? Let's see how you deal with Naruto on the hunt for your blood!" He continued, his insanity embedding it's talons deeper into the twisted man's mind.

"I WON'T LET YOU SLIP AWAY AGAIN!!!! HAHAHAHAHA" he screamed in fake amusement.

"I hate you! I hate you so fucking much!!!!!" He breathed, rage boiling under his skin "You have wronged me too much".
