Jūgo was beside himself with excitement. Homura had helped him complete all but one if his wishes. Since going to the Shikakuran Falls they had seen a fire magician in the Land of Lightning, who seemed to truly control the fire, been to an underwater cavern, filled with air and precious jewels, eaten a very rare fruit by the name of Jijiruna, it was supposed to be the sweetest thing known to man, and, finally, been to the fire temple outside of the Hidden Leaf Village.
"Just one more thing to do!!!" Jūgo said happily. "What?" Homura asked. "We gotta wait until day to do it! I wanna spend all day watching the clouds!" He said beaming widely at his friend. "Heh. You sound just like Shikamaru! He loves doing this!" She said. "Oh! And I forgot! Tomorrow is Christmas! I have a present for you!" He said pulling out a small package. "Yeah.... I have one to" Homura said pulling out an equally small package. "Swap?" Jūgo asked, excitement clear in his dark eyes. "You can't open it until tomorrow though!" Homura said smiling and swapping the packages. Jūgo nodded and slipped the present into his bag. Homura did the same already having enough trouble with all the presents in her bag. She had a few apologies she had to make.

They walked along the road as the sky started brightening. "We're almost there!" Jūgo said hurrying his pace. Suddenly Homura sensed something, heading towards them quickly. "Jūgo down now!" She cried running over to him. He slammed his body into the ground as Homura deflected a couple of Kunai. "Hello missy.... Time to DIE!!!!!" A hooded figure cried jumping onto her. Three others joined their fellow and one went after Jūgo who had started defending himself with one of the deflected Kunai. Homura led her attackers away from her friend and into the forest. 'Why? Why now? We are so close to Kisame-Kun! Dammit!!' She hissed in her head. She formed a quick handsign and red tattoo-like lines crawled up her body. She spun quickly and blew flames onto her four attackers.
She wiped her brow and looked around. No Jūgo. Her heart stopped as a blood curdling scream bounced off each tree. "JŪGO!!!! HANG ON!" Homura cried running to where the scream came from. She passed his attacker and jumped to the ground. "Jūgo are you ok?" She asked trying to get him to stand up. "No... He got me in the stomach. I've lost too much blood" he whimpered. "H-hey.... It's ok! Can you do me a favour? Can you open your present? I wanna see your reaction" he asked the redhead. She nodded and pulled out the little package. She pulled off the little ribbon with a shaky hand. It was a beautiful necklace. "It was my mothers.... it's the only thing of my parents I had.... Take care if it. Please?" Jūgo asked. "Ok.... Do you wanna see yours?" Homura asked as tears poured down her face.
With a shaky hand he pulled out the little package and slowly opened it. Inside sat a woven necklace with a carved wooden owl in mid-flight. "It's so pretty! Did you make it?" Jūgo asked. Homura nodded, her red hair bouncing around her shoulders. "It looks great! Good.... Job" he said half closing his eyes. "Jūgo!?! Keep your eyes open!!" Homura gasped trying to stop the bleeding. "Too.... Late.... Live life with n-no regrets... Here's one of mine..." He whispered pulling her head down to meet his. His eyes closed and Homura began to wail.
"You can't kiss me then fucking die!!!!" She sobbed. She cried onto the dead boys shirt until the sun came up. Slowly she dragged him to a cliff edge and buried him there. She put a large post on the grave and carved the words:
Bravery cost more then words.
It cost body and soul too.She tied the necklace she made him around the post. She turned to see His killer grinning like a Cheshire Cat at her. "You buried the loser? So touching... Let's see how good you are" the person said. "You! I am going to rip you to shreds!!!" Homura screamed jumping up and sending the person flying. She punched, kicked and stabbed the person for a while. "Please! I give in! Show me mercy!" The person cried. "Did you show mercy to Jūgo? No! So you'll get the same!!!" Homura cried.
For the next two hours the person went through complete hell.

Kisame was flying through the trees. Homura sent a letter a few weeks previously that she and a friend would be there for Christmas. She didn't arrive and he was worried. She never cancelled or missed an opportunity to see Tsudera. "Damn kid.... Where are you?" He asked out loud. He saw a patch of red and circled back.
"Oh shit"
Before him was a complete bloody mess. There where chunks of bloody meat everywhere and in the middle of it Homura lay unconscious. "Kid! Homura! Wake up!" He cried running over to her. She half opened one eye and smiled wearily at him. "Hello Kisame-Kun! What day is it?" Homura asked. "31st of December. How long have you been here?" Kisame asked. "Since the 24th! What is.... Is that the person?" She asked. "The Person?" He asked. "The person that.... Killed.... Jūgo." She chocked out. "Your friend?" He asked. She nodded and he wrapped her in his cloak. "Let's go home to Kakudo. You need proper rest" he said.
~
"Homura-Nee!!!!!" Tsudera cried as Homura emerge red from her room. "Hey Tsu-chan! Is muumuu and daddy home?" She asked. "Right here. Do you need something?" Kakudo asked. "I would like to send a few things home. If that's ok" Homura said. "Yes dear! Of course it is! Just be home before Kisame! He'll flip if you've been out" Kakudo said. The redhead nodded and walked out if the little house with Tsudera following close behind.
They arrived at a little mail stop and Homura walked in with her bag full of notes and presents. She quickly paid the mailer and passed on all her deliveries. "That is a pretty necklace dear. Who have it to you?" The man at the counter asked. "A very dear friend.... He can't be with is anymore" she said shuffling her feet sadly. "I'm sorry. Life isn't the best to the young. How old are you?" He asked. "15 since October the 31st" the redhead said smiling sweetly. "15 long years huh? Looks like you still got plenty left in you.... Plowe through life and make the suckers pay" he said patting the teens head.
Homura nodded and walked out of the building and over to Tsudera. "Why didn't you come in?" The redhead asked. "Daddy was in there" Tsudera said simply as the said blue man emerged from the building. "O-oh hello Kisame-Sama!" Homura said gulping. "I think your wounds are healed. You can leave in the morning" he said checking her temperature with his hand. "Ok Kisame! Thank you for everything!!" She cried hugging the older man. "It's fine.... Just stay till morning. Got it kid?" Kisame said. Homura nodded then picked up the small brown haired girl and ran to her friends home.
~
Homura walked down the village path just before the crack of dawn. She had left a note for Kisame and Kakudo explaining why she left so early she had left a small present for Tsudera and left her a note saying Nee-San will visit again soon. She slipped out of the village as the sun rose on the new year. "This year I'll become stronger and protect everyone precious to me" she promised herself.
