Back to writer’s POV
Damian couldn’t but feel the danger that might happen if he goes to the Fallen’s territory. He knows that if anything happens to him, it will happen to Shane as well. He knows that he can’t die now because if he dies now, he would let Sebastian down again. Somehow, Sebastian was right, so many of his siblings trusted him, yet he failed them. There is only one thing he could do and that is to make the Fallens to go to Miami where there is enough of his siblings to make sure everything would be fine. But this plan has a downside. What if the Fallens are strong enough to hurt his siblings or kill them? Lian is one good example. He had no effect on Damian’s telepathic ability. Damian can’t freaking read his mind at all.
He didn’t know much about the Fallens. Normally, those Fallens would avoid contact with any Damns or Grimms. Damian had only encountered one so far before Lian. And that one is one hell of a difficult book to read. His mind can’t be read but also his freaking heart too. You will never know what he is actually plotting. Now that he had met Lian, he needs to know more about him.
‘So, what are you going to do?’ Shane asked while Lian contact his comrades. Damian looked at her and begins speaking telepathically to Shane. I will send those Fallen back to Miami to meet up with Sebastian. Damian said. Instantly, he realized he had said something that is not supposed to be said. He punches himself in the face in his mind when Shane’s eyes widen in realization. Sebastian! You trust Sebastian? Wait! Since when did he join us?!’ She asked with anger and she glared at him with daggers. Damian sighed and shook his head. He is my brother. You know why he did what he did right? He was once the only person I could trust. Somehow deep in my heart I still trust him. He isn’t all bad, Shane. Damian thought. Isn’t all bad? What? Have you lost your mind? He fucking stabbed you in the chest! She thought and sent all her emotions to him. He couldn’t help but smile at his worried little mate. He got to admit, she is one tough cookie.
Like I said, love, he did what he did because of me. I was sure that very last moment, I saw in his eyes was a glimpse of guilt. He is a good man, Shane. Damian said as he tries to convince her. Urgh! Good or bad I do not trust him! She thought back. Damian chuckled. Fine, how are you going to convince the Fallens to go to Miami? She asked. I am a smooth talker, am I not? Damian bragged. Shane rolled her eyes and it only made Damian chuckle again.
Lian came walking back into the café and sat down with them. ‘Okay, I got them to listen to me. So when do you want to meet them?’ Lian asked. Damian made a ‘hmmph’ sound and sighed. ‘As you can see, I am actually here in China for holiday with MY girlfriend. I don’t want to go for any meeting with anyone except with MY girlfriend. Why don’t you guys head up to Miami and meet my brother instead.’ Damian said and emphasized every time he said ‘my girlfriend’ which made Lian laughed. ‘Whatever you say.’ Lian said as he left.
‘Wow, he sure didn’t put up a fight.’ Damian said as though he was shock. She hit him in the chest again and sighed at his childishness. For a guy who is supposed to be decades old, he is actually very childish. ‘Man, you do hate him a lot, don’t you? Shane said to Damian. ‘First of all, he dumped you which make him stupid. Second of all, he broke your heart that makes him an ass. Third of all, I just don’t like him.’ Damian said as he pointed with his fingers. She smiled at his protectiveness. ‘You won’t even let an ex break my heart?’ She asked innocently. ‘Yes, no one can do that to you not even me.’ Damian said protectively.
Before Shane could protest about it to Damian, his phone rang. Great, what a great timing. Damian picked the phone up and instantly she heard someone yelling. ‘What the fuck are you doing?!’ It was obviously Dominic’s voice. Damian put the phone further away from his ear and with another hand rubbing his ear showing that it hurts. ‘Why the fuck would you want Sebastian to do all those things?!’ Dominic asked again. Damian sighed. Damian can’t tell Dominic that he doesn’t trust him. Somehow, Damian’s gut told him that once Dominic gets what he wants he would bail out and run. ‘Because he is good at doing all those things.’ Damian simply finds an excuse to shut Dominic up but Damian knew it wouldn’t work.
‘Are you saying that he is a better leader?!’ Dominic asked with anger. Damian sighed and realized what a sloppy leader he is for letting his younger once talk to him like that. Damian breathes in and begins to speak in his stern tone. ‘Yes, he is a better leader than you are. Are you questioning my decision?’ Damian asked sternly. Dominic didn’t reply for a while. He must be shock at how Damian just spoke. ‘Are you as powerful as him? Can you scare him like how he scares you by just a glare?’ Damian asked and Dominic growled lowly. ‘No! I can’t! But can you?’ Dominic asked while trying to get Damian back. Damian laughed out so loud that all the people in the café turn to look at him like he is some mad man. ‘Do you want to try?’ Damian asked in a venomous tone and it sends chills down Shane’s spine. She shivered hard at what Damian had just said.
It wasn’t a question, it was like Damian is threatening Dominic but also asking the question at the same time. ‘Any more complains, brother?’ Damian asked again in his venomous tone when Dominic didn’t reply. Again, that wasn’t a question it was an order to call Dominic to shut up. ‘Good.’ Damian said as he was about to hang up Dominic suddenly spoke. ‘You better check on your good friend.’ Dominic said and hangs up before Damian could ask anything.
Damian frowned at the phone like Dominic was there. Even Shane frowned in confusion. What was that supposed to mean?
