My mind kept searching Shane’s, desperately but all I get is her drifting in and out of her sleep. They must have made her sleep with their powers. Damn them! But at the very least, I know that she is still alive but why? Why didn’t they kill her? Not that I want them to but they knew that if one’s mate dies the other would too. So why didn’t they do it.

Suddenly, Lucian pulled to a stop and landed on a mountain. Lian followed while groaning. He let me down but seriously, I could still feel the embarrassment of being carried by my brother. ‘You have something to ask Lian?’ Lucian said. I frowned in annoyance on how easily he just picked up what I was thinking. ‘Lian!’ I called out which made him threw his hands and head back in annoyance. ‘Why in the world didn’t they just kill her? Not that I want to but why not?’ I asked. I could feel that it is a trap that somehow, they wanted me to be there. Lian arched an eyebrow at me like I was stupid.

‘Quit the act, Damian. Shane isn’t here so you don’t have to act like you don’t know.’ Lian said. Lucian looked at Lian and I in confusion but I could only looked at the both of them with the same way. ‘I don’t understand.’ I said still frowning. What in the world does he meant? ‘Hey, kiddo, he really doesn’t know, trust me on this.’ Lucian said with a nod. Lian frowned at me. ‘This is your last reincarnation. I thought you knew that already.’ Lian asked.

I couldn’t speak. Somehow, knowing that this is the last time I would live seems so unreal. So this is it? My existence would be totally erased? Wait, isn’t this better? I wouldn’t be used for father’s schemes already. Isn’t it better that the world doesn’t have Damian?

‘Don’t you dare think of doing something stupid!’ Lucian shouted at me which pulled me out of my madness. ‘If you died, you would prove that what father said is right. If you died, you would let all your siblings down again! If you died, Shane would die as well!’ Lucian shouted at me. Instantly, I knew this madness is wrong, I can’t die, too much is counting on me. I waved off the thought and ran straight to gain speed, then with ease I flown up the skies. I can’t die!

But that doesn’t explain why Kasper wouldn’t just kill Shane. ‘But that doesn’t have anything to do with not killing Shane!’ I said while internally I was still in shock. ‘Haven’t you noticed that most of your siblings who had mate didn’t even die even though their mate had died so long ago? That Sebastian guy is a good example, even Dominic.’ Lian said as though he was stating the obvious. I frowned at him as I still do not get where he is going. But how did he know about Dominic. ‘Don’t ask how I know Dominic, we both have a past that is all you have to know.’ Lian said. ‘We don’t know why did that happened but I think Kasper don’t want to risk letting you live while that innocent girl dies. You do know that if an angel killed an innocent human they would be thrown out of Heaven and straight into Hell, right?’ Lian asked. I rolled my eyes and understood why Kasper didn’t kill Shane already.

But Dominic, he is still alive as well. What is happening? Is this one of father’s plot? Whatever it is, I have to survive this to help my siblings that I had once failed.
