When you got outside, Spencer was waiting for you in front of his car, he was wearing a shirt and tie with a cardigan, he looked really dapper. "Wow." He said when he saw you, looking at you in complete awe, his mouth was open slightly and you started to blush profusely, "Thank you, you look very handsome yourself." You returned, biting the side of your lip. "Shall we get going then? I made the reservation for 8:15." He opened the door for you and you smiled in response and got in the passenger seat of the car.
The restaurant wasn't too far and when you got out you realised how fancy this place was. You were sat at a table next to the window sat opposite each other and you started to get to know each other a little better, "So you went to Caltech? What was it like?" You asked, taking a sip of your drink. "Well, considering I was 12 when I first went, I didn't really get the college experience that most people did." He joked and you laughed back slightly, "But I guess you didn't either, being 24 with more degrees than me, means you must have graduated pretty early." He said, his eyes studying you intently, "Yeah, I was homeschooled until I went to university, and because of my mum, we travelled a lot..." You began to explain to him and as you did, he barely moved a muscle, after a minute or so you stopped talking about your life story, "Are you profiling me right now?" You asked leaning in closer to him, resting your head on your hands and Spencer broke his gaze from you a bit embarrassed he had been caught.
"Sorry, I don't mean to, it's just hard not to sometimes." He apologised nervously. "Spence it's fine." You smiled softly at him and he smiled back at you, "You're one of only two people who call me Spence." He said quietly, still smiling, looking down at his hands, "Oh, I'm sorry, I won't do-" You fidgeted a little in your seat, "No, No, I like it." Spencer smiled making you feel less uneasy.
"Go on then Dr Profiler, what's my profile." You flirted, sitting back in your chair and so did Spencer, "You're smart, obviously. You're used to being the smartest person in every room you're in but you don't like that. You try to hide your intelligence from people you don't really know, that's why you hate people calling you 189. You try to hide your it because you wish you were more normal, because you wish you had had more of a normal childhood, and part of you resents your mother for that, even now she's not here anymore. That's why you left home to come here, to escape the guilt you feel about your mother." The closer Spencer got to finishing his profile, the quieter he got, he probably didn't completely think about the words that were coming out of his mouth as they were. You felt your smile drop slightly, but he wasn't wrong, you kind of liked that he had the guts to say what he was thinking.
"Y/N, I'm so sorry, I shouldn't have said that." He looked genuinely upset about what he had said, "It's fine. You're right, hit the nail right on the head." You said light heartedly, "Seeing as you know everything about me anyway I guess I have someone to be completely honest with now." You both smiled at each other, like you were having the most in depth conversation, entirely in silence.
After you had dinner, you went for a walk around the city, Spencer spouting out all the facts about practically everything he knew about DC. "So why the FBI?" You asked, "I don't really know... It's sort of the only thing I ever considered." he replied thoughtfully, looking down on you with his puppy dog eyes, "Like it was what you were meant to do." You added, looking up at him and you locked eyes, both of you standing still facing one another in the street. "Exactly." His voice was so smooth and calming, you could listen to him talk forever, which he probably could, "Y/N... can I kiss you?" He asked a little shy and you felt your cheeks heating up, "Yeah." You stuttered under your breath smiling and Spencer grabbed your face and kissed you passionately.
You kissed him back and it felt as though your legs would give way right from under you. As he pulled away, you wished he hadn't. You could feel yourself breathing heavily, caught off guard by how someone who seemed so innocent and awkward could kiss with such intensity. Spencer was grinning down on you, still holding your face as he watched your eyes meet his. "You better do that again." You demanded, still catching your breath and wrapped your arms around his neck, "Oh yeah?" He teased, moving his hands to your waist and pulling you in closer to him and kissing you again more deeply than before. He bit your lip gently as his hands gripped you tighter, making you feel like you were floating. You ran your fingers through his long curls making his breath even heavier than he already was, he must like that.
After quite a while you pulled away from him unwittingly, needing to take a bigger breath than you could get with his lips on yours. He pulled your head to his, resting your foreheads against one another. "Don't go back to London on Friday." Spencer whispered, "I don't want to..." You moaned, "But..." "I know." He sighed, "I just have a good feeling about this." "Me too, we can figure it out though, right?" You hoped. You prayed, "Definitely." His smile was so wide he looked like a Cheshire Cat, but it was infectious and you followed suit.
You kept walking and talking for another hour until you got back to Spencer's car and he drove you back to Emily's building where you sat in the car a little bit longer. "I would invite you in but I think Emily would get a bit suspicious." You joked and Spencer chuckled lightly, "Yeah, I think it's best that she doesn't know this is happening just yet." He concurred, "I completely agree." You exhaled and unbuckled your seatbelt. "Where do you think you're going?" Spencer said sternly, taking you a back a bit, but you liked it, looking at him with a furrowed brow and he grabbed the back of your neck softly and kissed you once more, this time he was the one putting his fingers through your hair as he held your head tightly, pulling it closer to him with every movement. He went to pull away, but you wouldn't let him, grabbing his shoulder and bringing him back in and you could feel him smiling in your kiss.
Once you were both satisfied, he pulled away from you and this time you let him, "Can I see you again before I leave?" You asked, staring into his eyes, "I would see you everyday if I didn't have a job. Why don't we go out again tomorrow, or Thursday, or both! If you want that is." He rambled and you tilted your head. "I can't tomorrow, JJ, Emily, Penelope and I are having dinner, but Thursday definitely." You pulled him back in for one more kiss before getting out of the car, "Goodbye Spence."
You went upstairs to Emily's apartment and leant against the door as you shut it, it was 12:30am and you just hoped Emily was asleep. You collapsed on the bed staring at the ceiling. How could you be so smitten with someone you barely even know? That was the question that kept going round and round and circled around your head, but before you could come up with a legitimate idea, Emily came creeping into the bedroom. "Someone's home late! Good night?" She sat on the bed next to you. "Great night." You corrected, still looking up at the ceiling. "So, this friend... are they more than a friend?" She asked curiously, obviously trying to pry the events of your night out of you. "No, just a friend. Just nice to catch up." You lied, but not completely, you didn't know what you and Spencer were yet. "You're not fooling anyone Y/N, but fine. Keep your secrets! I'll find out eventually!" She got up and went back into her bedroom and you smiled to yourself, replaying your evening over and over until you fell asleep.
