(A/N: this one's pretty long)

That summer you and Spencer went to visit your family and Emily back in London and stayed with your dad. He had decided to go back to work last year as an Ethics professor at a university in London and you were happy he was happy. One day, you had showed Spencer around your favourite spots in London as well as going to visit Emily at the Interpol London office and were on the train home as there was absolutely no point driving in London.

"Hey, do you mind if we visit Zach and Lola tomorrow?" You asked Spencer, your head resting on his shoulder,

"Of course! We haven't seen them in months. The kids must be so different."

"Yeah, Dylan just durned 3, a lot changes in a child's development at this age."

When you got home, your dad had made dinner for you both, which was odd not only as it was 5pm but also as you had said you would cook while your were visiting, or at least order the takeout, "Dad? What's all this?"

"Can I not just cook for my wonderful daughter and son in law?" Your dad smiled whilst setting the last plate on the table and you all sat down.

You and Spencer told your father about your day and in turn he told you about his, "Speaking of work, theres something I want to talk to you about sweetheart."

"Yeah?" You replied swallowing your mouthful of Spaghetti,

"I have been seeing a woman from work for the last 3 months." He replied abruptly and you felt your eyes grow inside your head, of course not literally but that's what it felt like. Spencer looked at you, waiting for a response,

"What's her name?" You asked eventually, choking slightly,

"Emma. Emma Dean. She works in the Philosophy department at the university as well."

"Are you happy?"

"Very." Your dad smiled and so did you, albeit, yours being more of a sympathetic smile,

"That's all I care about dad. It's been 4 years since mum died, I'm happy for you." You reached across the table to grab your dads hand and squeezed it softly.

"Thank you Y/N."

You looked at Spencer, "You don't need to thank me, you deserve to be happy just like us." You said and Spencer put his hand on your thigh, rubbing his thumb gently back and forth.

The rest of dinner was much less tense as your dad told you about Emma and after dinner he said that he was going to see an evening show with her and he left fairly promptly. You and Spencer watched a movie in the living room after you had washed up and you laid on his stomach while he stroked your hair. You tilted your head up so your chin was resting on Spencers chest and he turned his head to look at you.

"You know something weird?" You said thoughtfully,

"What?" Spencer asked,

"If I hadn't have ran away from my family after my mum died, I might have never met you."

"You wouldn't have come to visit Emily anyway?"

"No, probably not. She always came here so she could see the boys and dad so it made less sense for all of us to go out there."

"Well I'm glad you ran away. I'd probably be alone for the rest of my life if I hadn't have met you. I don't know if you figured this out when we first met but I'm pretty crap with women."

"Well I definitely didn't get that vibe," You kissed him softly, "but I did get the vibe that you're," you kissed the left side of Spencers neck, "caring," then the right side, "and funny," then his right collar bone, "and sexy." You kissed the other side of his collar bone and you felt Spencer readjust himself and then take a deep breath in and you looked back up at him with a smirk. Spencer smirked back at you and flipped you over roughly so you were on your back on the sofa and he was on top.
