A month passed since Spencer had come to visit you and you still hadn't seen each other since. You were still calling every night and video chatting when you could but Penelope was working on a way for you to see each other soon.
On your one month anniversary you and Spencer had arranged to video chat at 6pm for you and 1pm for him as it was a Saturday so neither of you were at work and you could eat together, you dinner and him lunch.
You put on a black mini dress and put a bit of makeup on as well as doing your hair nicely. You knew Spencer wouldn't care if you were dressed up or not, but it was your first occasion, even if you weren't together physically.
You had made yourself a steak with vegetables and also made yourself a cocktail with your laptop set up opposite you on the table. At 6 on the dot you called Spencer and it practically didn't even have to ring as he picked up so quickly. "Happy one month Spence!" You shouted through the phone, "Happy one month my beautiful girl. God I wish I was with you right now." Spencer replied and your smile faded a bit, "Oh no, please don't be upset. I shouldn't have said that. Just seeing you... but not seeing you..." "It sucks." You finished for him and Spencer smiled slightly, "Anyway, how was your day?" He asked and you caught up and ate together, celebrating as best you could.
You and Spencer talked for hours, so long that Spencer had to make himself dinner while you got ready for bed. You were lying under your covers falling asleep, "I'm going to let you sleep Y/N." Spencer said reluctantly, "No, no, I'm fine!" You tried to insist, sitting up and Spencer giggled, "We'll speak tomorrow don't you worry. I had an amazing anniversary with you gorgeous, even if we weren't even on the same continent." "Yeah, I did too Spence. Sleep well." You replied, "You too Y/N." Spencer said softly and you ended the chat. Falling asleep almost instantly.

A few weeks later, you got a phone call from Penelope one afternoon, "Y/N! I've only gone and done it! I'm sorry it took so much longer than I thought but we've been so busy and better late than never right?" Penelope rambled as you answered the phone, "Well hello to you too Penelope." You replied sarcastically, "Y/N this is not a time for jokes, I managed to get you a week off work. I found a lab in DC that would love for you to go and give your expertise on one of their projects so I contacted your boss and they said that's fine and you only have to go to the DC lab twice that week and then you have the rest of the time to spend with out wonder boy, and you'll still get paid as it counts as works still! Am I amazing or am I amazing?"
You were speechless, "Oh my God Pen! You're incredible! Thank you so much!" "That was not one of the options but I shall take it nonetheless, you are so welcome!" "So when do I get to come out?" "2 weeks on Tuesday. You need to go into the lab on Wednesday and Thursday but that is it!" Penelope seemed just as excited about this as you were, you were literally jumping up and down with joy, "Oh my gosh I can't say thank you enough!" You gasped, "Just enjoy your time with Reid and pray they don't get called out on a case and make sure you squeeze in some time to come and say thank you to me in person." "Of course, I have to go but thank you Penelope, thank you." You hung up the phone and couldn't stop smiling, you were so excited.
