You and Spencer flew back the next day and when you got home you and Spencer both went straight to bed even though it was morning back in DC. In the afternoon you and Spencer both got up to eat some food when you got a call from Emily, "Hey Em." You answered the phone and Spencer nodded,

"Hey! How was your flight?" She replied,

"Good yeah, no screaming babies or anything."

"Ah good, how are you anyways, other than jet lag?"

"I'm good. How's Chris?"

"Yeah he's good-" Emily stopped herself, realising what she'd just admitted to,

"Ah-Ha! I knew it! Why didn't you tell me?"

"Because nothing really happened until I moved here! We caught up at your wedding and just realised how much we missed each other but we lived on different continents. Then when I moved it just all kind of fell into place. Are you mad?"

"No, I'm not mad of course not. I just wished one of you had told me."

"I swear we wanted to, but Chris was worried you'd be upset, that's why he was dodging your calls. He didn't want to lie to you."

"Alright then. I'll text him in a bit to tell him I know so he can stop feeling guilty. I know what he's like."

"Yeah, that'd be good. Anyway, I have to go."

"Okay. Talk to you soon?"

"Definitely." Emily hung up the phone and you put yours on the counter and walked into the living room where Spencer was sat watching TV. "Did she admit it?" Spencer asked as you cuddled into him,

"Yep. No more secrets."

"Good."

————————

3 months had passed since your visit home. Spencer again was here, there and everywhere solving cases and you were busy with your own interns. The second year of your residency was much more hands on and you were able to perform certain surgeries yourself with the assist of an attending.

One Thursday you had just scrubbed out from an 18 hour neurosurgery and your eyes hurt from squinting down a microscope looking at a mans brain. You were sat in the second year lounge lying on the sofa with your fingers putting pressure on your eyes trying to numb the pain when Philip came in.

"You alright genius?" He asked and you opened one eye to look at him,

"Yeah I just don't feel so good."

"Ah woman problems?"

"No, I'm not on my period." You replied and then suddenly sat up,

"Oh okay." Philip replied and went to his cubby,

"Hey, could you pass me my phone?" You asked Philip as his Cubby was right next to yours where your phone was,

"Yeah, sure, are you sure you're okay?"

You ignored him for a minute while you scrolled through your calendar, you were 3 weeks late. You smiled at your phone, holding a hand over your mouth and scoffing slightly, "Yeah, I think I'm great."

"Okay sugarplum. I've got to get back to plastics. See you later."

"Yeah, see ya." You replied, not looking up from your phone. Could you really be pregnant?

You went down to the ER and took a blood kit from the supply cupboard and drew a blood sample from your arm. You took it up to the blood lab and filled out the form and went back to Neuro while you waited for the results.
