Eva's POV

The next day I went to see Anna alone. When I got there her physical therapist was helping her regain mobility in her knee. I was stopped by the door due to the piercing scream I heard her release. I stepped back and waited until they were finished. The nurse left after about 20 minutes and I went in.

"Hey Boon, what's up?" I asked.

"I'm fine, I saw you at the door by the way." she said as she sat back.

"Uhhh, I uhhh I'm sorry I didn't know she was here." I said.

"It's fine it's fine. How are you?" she asked.

"Better now that I'm here with you." I said and she smiled.

"Boon can I ask you a question?" I asked. She turned to me and said "mhmm".

"Why were you with Devyn that night?" I asked. She closed her eyes and exhaled loudly.

"What did she tell you?" she asked.

"Nothing really. I asked her and she said you just spoke about your parents but she didn't go into details." I said.

"Eva, when I woke up Monday morning I found out my Dad had a stroke. When I got home I saw him hooked up to machines, much like I am right now, and that hurt me so much. I didn't want to go back to that space I once was so I called her to talk." she confessed.

"I'm so sorry to hear that baby. Why didn't you call me or Katie or Sab, you know we're always there for you." I said.

"Yeah I guess. Anyway how was school?" she asked. Okay so that meant she didn't want to talk just yet. I went with the flow and gave her the details of how school was. We laughed and talked throughout my entire stay.

"Boon my mom is here so I have to leave. I'd be back tomorrow, I love you." I said.

"Hey! Hey! No parting gift for the patient?" she said and puckered her lips. I went over and kissed her, oh how I've missed her lips. She pulled away and stroked my cheek with her thumb "I await your presence tomorrow, thank you Eva." she said.

Anna's POV

Eva left. I couldn't tell her the real reason why I contacted Devyn instead of her. Maybe after I leave and I'm less battered I'd  tell her how I feel. I love her with every fiber in me, even my metal knee loves her. I just can't seem to think she loves me back, no matter how many times she's said it.

~One week and a half later~

I learned to use the walker and now I can leave with crutches. I have to go back  in a week to remove the staples also my neck brace was removed. Eva has been with me every evening after school and on weekends, doing her homework and all from here. I love this girl so much. I wanted to surprise her by using the crutches. Dr. Khan came in to visit before I left.

"You've got to this stage quickly Miss Shumate, most positive patient I've had in a while." he said.

"Thank you, I'm trying." I said.

"I think that young lady has a lot to do with your progress so far, she should stay with you until you're walking on your own if possible." I lit up at his suggestion and couldn't wait to pitch it to Eva.

"I hope so. Thank you so much Dr. Khan, I'd see you next week to remove the staples." I said.

"You're welcome Miss Shumate and oh before I forget, I believe this beautiful piece belongs to you." he said and opened his hands and reveled my chain. Finally, I needed to get it back to its original owner. I was ready to.

"Thank you." I thanked him and the nurse wheeled me out the room same time I saw Esther waiting for me by the entrance. I screamed with excitement, my mother aka Esther was here.

"Miss Anna, yuh look bruk up gyal." she said as she bent down to hug me. I laughed but where was Eva? I got in the car and relaxed in the back seat eager to lay in my own bed, I missed it.

We got home and it took a while for me to get out the car. The nurse that my parents hired was waiting for me at the door and she gave me my crutches. Esther was smiling all the way but I just put it down to her being happy that I was back home. I walked in and to my surprise Eva, Katie, Sab, Cooper and Devyn were all there waiting for me.

"Welcom home BOON!" they shouted. This was the best moment ever. They all came up to me, hugged me and expressed how proud they were of me. Eva came up last and wrapped her arms around my neck "Welcome home pretty." she said.

"Thank you beautiful. You planned this?" I asked.

"Of course. And I'm so proud of you using the crutches." she said.

"I was excited as fuck to show off to you." I said. She kissed me and I kissed back. That kiss was so satisfying.

"Pack it up lovebirds." Katie said. I pulled away and flipped Katie off, she returned the gesture.

"I love you now and I will love you forever Eva Cudmore." I whispered in her ear. She hugged me so tight.

"I love you too, Boon." she said.

"Miss Anna, you cyah(can't) sleep inna(in) yuh room. So dem fix d pool house like ya room. Everyting from yuh room deya(there) in d pool house." Esther informed me.

"But why?" I asked aggressively.

"Climb d bloodcaart stairs lemme see!" Esther said. As much as she was loving she never held back on scolding me.

"Okay alright, I get it." I said. Eva snicked at our interaction. Then it hit me, Devyn's here WITH Eva.

"Uhmm Devyn? Eva? Y'all friends now or something?" I asked as I watched them back and forth.

"Well as I told you and then Eva, eventually, I realized how deep y'all relationship is and didn't want to interfere or cause trouble. So yeah Eva and I talked and we're good." Devyn said.

"Okay great." I said in relief. I hung around with my friends for an hour or so before they left but Eva stayed around. We went to my temporary room and it was perfect, just like my actual room but with adjustments to suit my physical state right now. I sat down on the bed and realized Eva went in the bathroom and took a shower.

"Why didn't you just shower home?" I asked.

"I just did dummy." she said while she dried her hair.

"Huh?" I said confused. She got in the bed and sat facing me.

"I asked my mom if I could stay with you until your parents came back and she said yes." she said.

"Bruh! For real?!? Yo come here!" I said and opened my arms for a hug.

"But wait! Wasn't she suspicious?" I asked.

"Oh yeah, I came out to her and she accepted me. I told her I didn't know if we were together or not but I knew I loved you and you loved me." she said. Wow I couldn't believe it.

"I need to eat you out for that." I said to her.
