Eva's POV

I knew Anna was distraught after she saw her vehicle and I also knew that she wouldn't speak about it until she was ready so I let her be. I went to find Amanda to get an update on Anna's cut and when she'd be removing the stitches.

"Hey Amanda." I said

"Hey Eva, how may I help?" she asked.

"When does Anna have to go back to the hospital?" I asked.

"Wednesday. Why?" she asked.

"Well I want to be there for her when she does." I said.

"Awww, you're an amazing girlfriend. Lucky to have Anna" she said and whispered the last part.

"Huh? What?" I questioned.

"I said you're an amazing girlfriend." she repeated.

"Or okay, well thank you bye." I said and left. I swore I heard something more, weird.

Sab texted in the group chat and asked if she could bring Cooper and I said yes then Katie asked if she could bring Jean Victor as well, I agreed. I went to get changed into a bath suit and saw Anna was asleep. She was a light sleeper so I did what I had to do as quietly as possible and left.

I set up a snack table, brought out the speakers and hooked up the grill.

"Wazzzuuuuppp!!" I heard from the kitchen.

"Wazzzuuuuppp!!" I shouted back. Katie, Sab, Cooper and Jean Victor arrived.

"AYO, where's Anna?" Katie asked.

"She's asleep." I said.

"Damn and I know that idiot hates when someone wakes her." Katie said.

"Yeah, the music and noise should wake her though." I said.

"Uhmm Eva, how's her mental health doing?" Sab asked in a hushed tone. Katie shot Sab a threatening look. What the fuck were they hiding?

"She's been great considering her circumstances." I answered. "Why?" I asked

"Nothing!" Katie blurted out and smacked Sab behind her head.

"Oh fuck Katie!" she shouted. Katie gave her the threatening look again and Sab immediately changed the subject.

"Katie what's the tea with you and Jean Victor?" Sab asked. Katie's cheeks turned pink and she stumbled through her words to form a sentence, I've never seen Katie like this.

"Oooo Katie you like him for real for real!" I said with excitement.

"Shut the fuck up but I don't know. We'll see where it goes." she said.

"Okay Miss Gurl, get it I guess." I said. We all laughed and continued chatting.

An hour had passed and we were all just vibing, Cooper on the grill, Katie and Jean in the pool and Sab and I brought out two bar stools from the kitchen and sat in the shade. Suddenly Katie jumped out the pool and ran towards the kitchen, I looked ahead to where she was headed and saw Anna. Anna braced herself for Katie's impact but Katie stopped abruptly and took her time to hug her. Anna looked so happy to see Katie, I often forgot how close the were. They stood there and spoke for a bit then they walked out.

"AYO Shlime!" Cooper shouted from by the grill.

"AYO!" she responded. While she was making her way over to Sab and I, Sab got up and met her halfway. They embraced then Sab asked "How's therapy?".

"It's great. As long I continue I should be walking with a cane soon." she said and smiled.

"That's great Anna! I'm so proud of you for that and for keeping your mental health in check." Sab said. Anna looked past Sab and locked eyes with me, as she tried to figure out if I heard what Sab had asked. I eased her concern by looking away and pretending to bob my head to the music.
