What A Tangled Web

Anna's POV

My alarm disrupted the silence of the early morning and I rushed over to the nightstand to silence it before it woke Eva. I was already up and halfway dressed to take my daily morning walk. I threw on my black Adidas knit shorts paired with an orange & pink two toned sports bra and Ultraboosts. Grabbed my airpods and a redbull from my mini fridge and headed to the pool house. 

I listened to Future - HNDRXX album while I walked at a reasonable pace and slowly increased the speed. The treadmill was great but it couldn't beat how the morning breeze kissed my face or the smell of morning dew or the conversations between the birds that translated as melodies. After 30 minutes, I stopped, did a cool down and stretched. It was now 6:30am so I went back up to my room, picked out my clothes for school.

I decided on a white Polo Ralph Lauren Logo Fleece Sweatshirt, AE high wasted ripped mom jeans and Nike SB Dunk low 'Photon Dust' then I picked out an outfit for Eva as well. I never did that before but it wasn't as difficult as I thought it would've been. I chose a white Champion cropped cutoff crewneck  with a purple logo, purple  Champion boyfriend sweatpants and AF1s.

I laid it out both outfits on the loveseat and sat on the floor, back to the bed and examined the last set of nudes I got. I zoomed in on the one that looked like it was taken in a hotel, to try and figure out if I recognized it. As I scrolled through the pictures to find any clues, I got a text from Jack.

J. Tech👓

J: It's done! I'm forwarding the evidence to your email. Remember to access it from the phone I gave you or else we can get caught. Love ya

Me: Incredible! Thank you. We'd get back to you when it's done. Ily

"What the fuck are you up to?" Eva said and I jumped which caused my phone to slip out my hand.

"Bruh, you scared me! Morning." I said.

"What were you doing?" she asked. I stood up and sat next to her but she scooted away. I tried to touch her thigh and she slapped my hand away.

"Yo, what the hell? I was scrolling through IG." I said annoyed.

"Boon don't fucking lie, I saw you looking at the nudes, which aren't even deleted. Also I've never seen those ones before. THEN you get a cryptic text from J, who you loves you and you love them apparently." she shouted. Wow, she was awake for a while, I guessed it was time to tell her the plan.

"Damn, you saw everything huh? Okay let me explain." I said calmly.

"I hope to fucking God you're not cheating on me." she yelled.

"Ayo! Knock it off, I'm not cheating on you, I  never will. Do you want to hear the truth or continue with whatever you want to believe?" I said firmly.

"Fuck off Boon!" she shouted. She got up and went to the bathroom and began to get ready.

"Oh My God!" I whispered. I followed her and stood next to her while she brushed her teeth.

Eva's POV

I was so upset, the nerve she had to be more upset than I was.  She stood next to me while I brushed my teeth and looked at me in the mirror.

"You know when I saw the text from Brad, I did not react like that. So why do you have to shout and behave like that? You know I won't lie to you if you ask me a question." she said softly.

"Has it ever occurred to you that we're not the same fucking person?" I snapped.

"Yes, I'm aware of that." she said calmly and went to shower. I finished brushing my teeth and went back to bed and screamed into the pillow. How could she flip this on me? Was she manipulating me? Was I overreacting? If she wanted to keep secrets then fine by me, I won't say a word, literally.

She came out the shower and went over to the love seat where I saw two outfits laid out. She looked up at me and smiled.

"I laid out clothes for you that I thought would look good on you." she said and continued to dress. I went to shower but when I came out she wasn't there. I examined the outfit and it was indeed a good fit so I wore it. I went down to the kitchen and Anna was eating and she took out my cereal but left the milk out because she knew I hated soggy cereal. I poured the milk and sat a seat away from her, she just chuckled.

"I'm finished so I'll be in the jeep waiting for you." she said and left. I finished not long after, went back upstairs for my phone and backpack. I left the house and got in the jeep.

"You have everything?" she asked. I did not answer. She sucked her teeth and drove out the yard. She did not speak on the way to school, just sang along to the music she played. We eventually got to school and I jumped out the jeep instantly. Apparently she knew I would've done that and met me on the other side. She held me in a bear hug and planted several kisses on my face.

"I'm not cheating on you stupid so please talk to me." she said playfully.

"Boon, I'm not in the mood!" I said.

"Alright, fine. I love you, okay." she said and kissed my cheek then let go of me. I walked over to our friend group and greeted everyone. Anna came right after and did the same.

"Wassup Shlime!" Cooper said and she responded.

"Idiot, you know begging to come out the doghouse won't actually get you out the doghouse." Katie said and laughed. She flipped her off and looked at me and blew me a kiss.

"Have any of you seen Brad or his friends?" Boon asked.

"Yeah they're here, well actually I saw Brad for sure, looking totally fucked up but he's here." Dev answered. Anna looked at Cooper and Cooper looked at Zack and Jean Victor.

"Hey! What the hell are you four up to?" Sab asked them.

"Babe, what are you talking about? You forgot what happened at the party, I punched him and bailed. Gotta watch my back, you know." he responded. Anna looked at him again and nodded subtly.

Whatever bullshit story Cooper gave Sab, I didn't buy it one bit but Sab apparently did. I looked at Anna, scoffed and walked away, just then the school bell rang.
