Affirmations

Anna's POV

I woke up before Eva as usual and skipped my morning walk to do something for her. She opened up a little and expressed how she felt being with me in public, which I realized had very little to do with me. She had to have had these issues before I met her but I was determined to help her fix it. 

I went to my mother's office and got sticky notes and wrote words of affirmations on six pieces for her. 

'You Are Special To Me'

'I love you'

'Thank you for being you even on your bad days'

'I love your smile, you should wear it more"

'Everyday I feel lucky that you chose me"

'You inspire me to be a better person'

I went back to the bedroom quietly and stuck them on my bathroom mirror, three on each side. I took a shower and while doing so I remembered the information Jack gave me. The phone that sent the nudes was heavily encrypted and that made his job ten times harder than he expected. I didn't mind because that was the least of my worries, I was focused on Eva and our relationship solely. I finished my shower, changed into a black Vegas motel tee that I got from iamKoko.la, distressed mom jeans and white Nike AF1's.

On my way to the kitchen, I got a call from my mother. She said she missed me and needed to hear my voice which I also needed but didn't want to bother her. We talked while I made breakfast and even halfway through me eating. We said our goodbyes and I continued eating.

I heard Eva walk into the kitchen not long after, but I didn't turn around. I felt my chair spin around and stop and right in front of me was Eva. She was already dressed for school in a grey pleated skirt and an oversized tee and she smelled amazing. She walked closer to me and stood between my legs then wrapped her hands around my neck. I remained seated and hugged her waist with both hands.

"Hey, morning. You seem very ready for the day." I said.

"Morning. Yes, well I did have a few written pick me ups to encourage me." she said and smiled.

"Oh really? That's great and all of it is true, I hope you know that." I reassured her. She looked at me then leaned in for a kiss and I gladly kissed back. While we kissed I felt liquid fall on my cheek and I pulled away to see tears in her eyes.

"What's wrong?" I asked.

"Nothing is wrong. You're just like the best person ever. These tears are just happy tears." she explained, leaned in a second time and kissed me. She kissed my lips slowly and sweetly then moved to my forehead, cheeks and lastly my nose. She then moved away to eat the avacado toast I made for her.

"I'm leaving so I'd pick up the girls. See you at school." I said to her. She nodded and I left. I picked up the girls and got to school pretty early.

"Jean Victor and I had a huge disagreement and I don't want to see him right now, can we hang out by your jeep until the bell rings?" Katie asked.

"Yeah sure. Text Sab and tell her come over." I said. She did that and Sab came over.

"Lauren, Cooper says all his friends are simping hard over you." Sab said as she arrived.

"Oh okay." she simply said.

"You said that like you aren't into boys." Katie said. For some reason I was interested in her response. She looked at Dev for what seemed to be assurance and Dev nodded slightly.

"Well uhmm I'm bisexual." she admitted. 

Eva's POV 

I got to school and saw the girls by Anna's jeep which wasn't the usual spot but it wasn't that serious to me. I got out and noticed my zip was down and in the process of zipping it, it split. Fuck! I used my bookbag to cover the zip and walked over to the girls.

"Morning Eva!" Sab greeted then hugged me and Katie and Dev followed after. Dev's friend just looked at me with a pleasant smile and Anna looked at my bag placement then back to me.

"Guys, listen major wardrobe malfunction, my zip is not co-operating right now." I said.

"Oh fuck! Let me see." Katie said. 

"Nah!" Anna said blatantly and gave me a menacing look. 

"Eva, do you have any sweatpants in your car?" Dev asked.

"No. All my clothes are either home or by Anna." I said and instantly regretted that last part.

"Why? I thought y'all broke up?" Sab asked and looked at Anna.

"Yeah, something so. Eva I have a pair of sweatpants if you want." Anna said.

"Yeah, thank you." I answered and she went to retrieve it. She called me over on the other side of the jeep and gave it to me.

"Get in and change." she commanded and I laughed. "What's funny Eva? I'm not sure why you would even wear that skirt bro, that was totally unnecessary." she continued. I totally ignored her annoyance, got in then she got in as well and stayed while I changed. I overheard Devyn's friend ask the girls if Anna and I were really broken up and how long, just strange questions in my opinion. Anna didn't hear because I'm sure she was still upset that I wore a skirt to school but she was more upset that Katie asked to see my faulty zipper.

"Why are you upset Boony?" I asked teasingly. She inhaled and scratched her head then looked over to me.

"Because Eva, this all could've been prevented if you just wore jeans or sweats or something simple." she said. As I pulled up the sweatpants Anna then looked down and opened her eyes wide.

"Eva are you serious??" she whispered.

"What?" I asked.

"Why would you wear that short skirt AND a thong?" she whispered but louder.

"Because it's my body and my clothes and MY choice." I snapped.

"I agree but don't wear that to school and I'm not about to have this conversation with you again." she said matter of factly.

"You know you can't tell me what to wear or when to wear it." I said and laughed.

"You see you're not even taking me serious. Eva what if you had shown Katie your zipper and she did some stupid shit and it showed your underwear. Do you not fucking think?" she shouted.

"Boon don't get loud, they may not be able to see us because of your tinted windows but they can hear you." I whispered.

"I don't give a fuck!" she said even louder. 

"Anna! Stop it!" I said firmly. 

"Fine!" she said.

"You can't act like this in public!" I cautioned her.

"Okay." she said. "Can I get a kiss?" she asked and scooted closer to me. I looked at her and shook my head no but she held my jaw and pulled me back in for a sloppy kiss. Then she released me, wiped her mouth and left. I did the same and got out the jeep and saw Brad approaching us.

"Incoming." Dev said the group went silent.

"Ladies, good morning." He began.
