Eva's POV

Anna had a tight grip on my waist as she struggled to finish her sentence.

"She sat on my lap but Eva keep in mind I was drunk." she said as she tried to downplay the severity of the situation.

"Uh huh." I said.

"And she kissed me and honestly Eva, babe I kissed her back. BUT BUT then she said she was a better kisser that you and I think that's when I came to my senses and pulled her hair back but she was crying that I was hurting her. I didn't mean to kiss her or hurt her but I told her to leave and I left the room." she said very slowly. She made sure I heard everything that she had to say and kept eye contact the whole time.

Her raw honesty didn't prevent the hurt or betrayal I felt. I slapped her and immediately regretted it. She took the slap without breaking eye contact with me.

"I'm sorry Eva, I swear." she said hugged me. I tried to get out of her grip but she was much stronger than I was. I stopped fighting when I realized she was not letting go.

"Eva, I'm sorry but listen please. I know you hate me now but I'd win back the love you gave to me so freely." she said, kissed my cheek and finally let go. Even when I hated her she said the right words to melt my heart.

"Please take me home." I demanded and as angry as I was, I had to keep in mind that she just buried her father. I entered the jeep and slammed the door.

"OK." she said and got in the jeep after me. She looked at me a little before starting the jeep. The ride to my house was uncomfortable to say the least. The idea of someone else in Anna's lap and kissing her angered me so much. Anna was mine and mine alone but reality proved that maybe it was time to let go of that fantasy.

"You're here." she said and I opened the door quickly. I walked inside without looking back and closed the door. I got to my room, looked through the window and saw Anna lightly banging her head on the steering wheel in frustration.

A: Okay. Don't block me please. I won't harass you but don't shut me out please.

I couldn't answer her because I had no idea what to do. We couldn't go back to being friends and I wasn't sure if we could go forward as a couple. Anna wasn't emotionally capable of letting other people into her life and until then I wasn't going to subject myself to that torture. On top of all of that she kissed another bitch, how dare she.

I was not going to allow her inconsistency to pause my life. If she wanted me she would have to catch up.

Anna's POV

I drove away from Eva's house completely shattered. Why did I have to choose then to tell her? Why did I have to even tell her at all? Now I lost two people in one day. I didn't want to go home so I drove to Katie's. Katie's family was my second family, hell at times they were my only family. I walked in and her Dad immediately grabbed me in a bear hug, then her Mom joined soon after.

"Accept our deepest condolences my dear." her Mom said. I hugged them back for a while then went up to Katie's room.

"Idiot, where did you and Eva go?" she asked.

"For a drive." I said. She looked at me then continued scrolling through her phone. She knew something was wrong but she didn't ask. I took off my shoes and laid on her bed. I fell asleep soon after.

"Anna, Anna!" I heard and I groaned in annoyance.

"What!?" I muttered and opened my eyes.

"Your Mom wants to know if you're sleeping over here." Katie said. Oh shit! I sat up and shook my head no.

"Tell her I'd be there soon." I said as I rubbed my eyes and checked my phone. I had so many missed calls from my mother. I got up, hugged Katie and left. I drove home to an almost empty house which I was glad for. I found my mother sitting out by the pool with a drink in her hand.

"Hey mom, sorry I left without saying anything." I said as I sat next to her.

"Where were you princess?" she asked.

"I went for a drive with Eva then to Katie's." I said.

"Okay. Esther told me you lent the Tesla to Eva." she said and looked at me.

"Yeah, well she was here with me after the accident and I didn't have my car to lend her. I just wanted her to be comfortable." I explained.

"Okay. So why is it here still?" she asked.

"Well she left it." I said.

"I saw the way she stood by your side through everything you've been through. She loves you unconditionally." she said. I looked at her and the thought of Eva not wanting anything to do with me filled my head and tears rolled down my face.

"I messed up you know. I did many things to her that she didn't deserve. I don't know how to repair it." I confessed. She hugged me and kissed my head.

"Princess, give her the car. Not because you want her back but it's a way to show thanks for all that she's been to you. I heard she was an intricate part of your recovery after the accident. It's the least you could do." she said. She was so right, I never told Eva how grateful I was for her. Instead I basically pushed her away. We said nothing more and just sat outside until we decided to retire to bed.

The next morning I got up and got ready for school. Turned into the school car park and I saw my friends in their usual huddle including Eva. This was about to be tough for me.

I got out my jeep and made my way across to them. As I got closer I saw fucking Brad next to Eva, bruh she can't be serious.

"Hey fools, morning. Good morning Eva." I said.

"Morning Anna." Eva said.

"Morning idiot." Katie said. "Brad here just invited us to a party at his house on Friday." she continued.

"Okay, uhm Eva can I speak to you for a second? " I asked and she nodded. We walked a good distance away from the group.

"How are you?" I asked.

"I'm fine, what's up?" she asked.

"Would you be okay with me going to the party?" I asked.

"It's not my party Boon, it doesn't matter." she said.

"Eva I didn't ask if it was your party. I asked if my presence would make you angry or uncomfortable in any way." I said.

"No Boo- Anna. No Anna." she said.

"Okay beautiful." I said and she opened her mouth to say something but closed it. As we made our way back to group I whispered to her "I see I still have the ability to make you speechless".

Her face got red but her expression remained serious. This was about to be harder than I expected.
