Hey, hey! Remember every day
We've been through life and death and everything in between
I could run it down but damn, I don't think I could make a clean sweep
Lock me in a panic room where my demons all sleep
Roll me up like old papers that we throw into the flames
Coming down from Roscommon with an uncommon name
Drink the vodka in the cupboards, raid for crackers in the fridge
While our mothers go enjoy themselves after we sweep the lake
Cat mugs and expired corner store sandwiches on fires
Of report cards, cardstock hearts, first grade memories
C'est la vie, mon ami, let's go burn some demon candles
Shaped like cats til the wax hits the snow and the handles
Of your bike by the intersection where we once drew
Ohio and Michigan making purple from their red and blue
Going through the drive thru for some donuts at 2
As the policeman drives by right before we make our climb
Up an abandoned McDonald's, poking fun at White Castle
Introducing the mafia while we're downing goldfish and salsa
Looking out for another girl's streetlamp with the moths and the loops
Bring a rose by while we bring on the arson at our old school hoops
Light up a whole field and stomp in the blaze
Vandalize every electrical box that stands in my way
Santa was here and so were we burning away our past
Handstands and old bayonets made to last
Watch that Christmas sunrise and break half your foot
Fall off your bike in slow motion and revel in the soot
Murder some pedestrians clad in all black
Climb up blocked ladders and never come back
Eat some teabags up north and fling feathers and hats
While we try every method to get up on the roof
Beneath parking lot lights in the emptiness of it all
Gift me a Valentine's dragon outside of our halls
Calligraphy pens and Spyfall's debut
Rearrange some flowerpots and take the short way through
Heavy home bases for children like you
Phallic cats in the field in the dirt beneath your shoes
Cop sirens and drug deals right by where we'd hide
With the decades-old peanut butter under the slide
Dreaming of hospital visits in time
To make memes in retrospect, empathy divine
I sang you my songs and I'm amazed that you listened
Fresh footsteps in the snow as the moonlight glistens
What else am I missing? Hell, I don't know
I'm just thinking of Halloween fires in the snow
And our jokes of self-storage, and all of that jazz
Roasting cars and their owners for lacking all class
Like I said, we've been through life, death and everything
Fluent conversations in vines while you're high on morphine
Together we've seen what no other eyes will ever see
Together you and I are beautiful beings
