I hide beneath a veil
Of woven, weighted stars
It flashes red and gold
But you all see it as white
You'd think I'd walk the aisle
With this veil of weighted stars
While the flutes and cellos play
Instead of standing in silence
I hide beneath a veil
Of spoken, hated lies
It's black in charcoal shades
Now you can't see my face
You'd think I'd watch the graves
With this veil of onyx hue
While the rain descends from above
Instead of dancing in the strobe
I hide beneath a veil
Of light and feathered wings
You might spot them in my reflection
Or on the wall I stand beside
You'd think yourself a bit crazy
With the things that you might see
While you ponder about your own sight
Instead of seeing the real me.
