My thoughts quarrel with my hands
My hands fidget with the keys
The keys click and words appear
But those words are all memories
My mind banters with my lips
My lips dry against the cold
The cold forgives but I forget
The lies that you have told
My heart isolates its beats
Against a chilled and frozen world
From which its solitude is solace
And its solitary shield
For when solar rays disperse
And souls beseech the coming solstice
Monologuing soliloquies solve
A question with no solution
Such solemn notes the soloist plays
No orchestra, she strums alone
And solders together the lonesome tune
That salivates at the sound of
The soulless requiem.
