I keep sayin' that I'm free as a bird
But in every word
I feel like I'm lyin'
I keep singing to the moon in the sky
To the apple of my eye
I feel like I'm dyin'
And I keep striving for something that just isn't there
Sometimes, life isn't fair
Why do I keep playing its games?
I'm so sick of these rules and rigged cards
These mirror shard hearts
Sick of throwing these darts
I wanna let loose, hang out
Run wild and let go
Wanna get swept up by the waves
And float my way back home
I wanna set sail, turn tail
'Til it fades to black
'Cause when life gives you lemons
You know you can't give 'em back
I keep walking the path that I'm on
When you run in these halls
You'll be runnin' these streets
I keep treading the waters in blue
If I drown I'll be fine
Won't be wasting my time
And I keep striving for something that just isn't there
Sometimes, life isn't fair
Why do I keep playing its games?
I'm so sick of these rules and rigged cards
These mirror shard hearts
Sick of throwing these darts
I wanna let loose, hang out
Run wild and let go
Wanna get swept up by the waves
And float my way back home
I wanna set sail, turn tail
'Til it fades to black
'Cause when life gives you lemons
You know you can't give 'em back
Maybe I'm just selfish
'Cause feeling lonely isn't rare
Maybe I'm just longing
For something that was never there
Maybe I'm just selfish
'Cause feeling lonely isn't rare
Maybe I'm just angry
This game of life is never fair
I wanna let loose, hang out
Run wild and let go
Wanna get swept up by the waves
And float my way back home
I wanna set sail, turn tail
'Til it fades to black
'Cause when life gives you lemons
You know you can't give 'em back
