Let me tell you the story of how I lost honor
The pride that I wore on my sleeve as my armor
One that I thought I'd carry from here to Ann Arbor
But the moment it left, my life grew a shade darker
I'm wondering if I can drown in a harbor
Of sins and mistakes made by a naive daughter
Condone what is wrong with a coaxed love and foster
The bloodbath starts here, my emotions are mine to slaughter
Music and wine bring me tears and no joy
I'm busy reminiscing with the thoughts of a boy
My animosity and mask may suffice as a decoy
But what starts as a dare cannot always be enjoyed
If I show you what now I can just hope is destroyed
If I succumb to your reasons and lust driven ploy
If excuses are what you believe I employ
Throw me to the sea, limbs bound in ashamed corduroy
When I met you I know what I saw: damaged eyes
When you left me I knew what we had was a lie
Because saying "I love you" a billion times
Won't repair your broken heart, let alone mine
Bandages to bullet wounds cannot be applied
And expect to have any effect if you try
Context and consent are between you and I
But know this: Dares are where dignity goes to die.
