A revelation, a question, a discovery.
A culmination, an extension, a drag.
This year, this decade, this memory.
Time and time again.
I can relive everything.
Every bead of sweat and rolling tear
Or step in rain-soaked golfing greens
With broken tees in gateway grass.
Every insult, every game.
Every patch and spike of ping.
I can remember every key.
I can relive everything.
But I'm tired of my ability.
I want to trade it in.
I don't want to wake up at night
Remembering what we did.
Or what you made me do,
Or what we said in tune
Or screams beneath the moon
Or visits on twelve and twenty-two.
I can remember it all.
I can relive everything.
No wings will take me out of this.
Shut up and take the baton.
