You're beautiful and you're dangerous,
You're the devil to my blackened halo
You're a rabbit yet a cunning fox
You're a midnight, moonlit rainbow
I'm broken and I'm fractured
I'm the angel with starling wings
I'm the last one people want to meet
I'm among the forgotten things
I wish that I could say to you what
I really want to say
I stay afraid that if I do
I will end up pushed away
You can tell me things are fine
You know they're not, and that it's false
You should hope you won't need me, or
You will find me streaked with salt
We promised time and time again
And did our best to hold
We trusted what our hearts had said
And were with caution bold
We mended like no matter
And lived lies the world to us sold
We started fresh but none is as it seems
Nor all that glisters gold.
