My dearest darling dreamer
What goes on inside your mind?
What wonders lay inside your eyes
That the world has yet to find?
What friends have made themselves known
And what enemies have changed sides
Where is the place where lost things go
And where your heart resides?
My dearest darling dreamer
Tell me, what is your violet hue?
Do you feel unity in tyrian and merlot
Will you tell me, is it true?
What colors hide behind your eyelids
And what patterns crawl beneath
Where is your place of safety,
And where is your place of peace?
My dearest darling dreamer,
What ignites your very veins?
Where is the origin of your drive
That makes you take the reins?
What music fills your ears at night,
What symphony for you, plays?
Where do your deepest memories go,
And spend the rest of their days?
My dearest darling dreamer,
Do you gaze upon the stars?
Do you perhaps wonder if their light
May be a clue for who you are?
Do the darkest nights not faze you,
Does the sharpest breeze not cut
Do you see the starscape above you
Even when your eyes are shut?
My dearest darling dreamer,
Do you wear your mind on your sleeve?
Do you ponder the world around you
When clad in black for worldly leave?
Are there wishes you'd love granted
To make your world a better place?
Or choices you've internally reprimanded
Whose paths you dare never chase?
My dearest darling dreamer,
Where do truest riches lie?
Are they among superficial finances
Or the rainbow in your eyes?
Money buys you not happiness
But the systems remain adept
At transforming your work and efforts
Into drowning in your debt.
My dearest darling dreamer,
Do you ever lay awake at night?
