Close to a year passed and the kids went on to their next year of high school, I had to step out of being an underground hero for a few months, my mental health was pretty good for the most part as long as I was taking my medication, and just about everyone else was in good health; well, that was except for Toshinori.

One warm fall morning, a day that I didn't have to work at UA or at the agency for once, I figured that I should go visit Toshi and bring over lunch. I sat up in bed and rubbed the sleep from an eye before picking up my glasses and looking up to see that Chi was reorganizing his desk. I pushed myself out of bed and walked over to him. I put my arms around him and asked, "All done with your work?"

He looked at me from over his shoulder and said, "Good morning, babe." then turned back to cleaning his desk, "I pretty much just finished a program not that long ago, so now it's downloading and will take up to three days."

I smiled as I asked, "Well then, do you want to join me when I head over to Toshi's? I was thinking that I could go over to his place and surprise him with lunch."

"Sure, I'll come with." he paused, "What are you planning on making?"

I hummed as I thought about it for a moment. "I'm not quite sure, I haven't gotten that far." I paused before suggesting, "What if you make some gyoza while I make curry and rice to go with it."

He nodded his head as he continued to clean, "Works for me."

I kissed the back of his neck before I went to the dresser to pick up jeans and a long sleeve shirt and into the bathroom. I took the time and curled my hair, but didn't bother with makeup. Once I was ready and left the bathroom, I noticed that Chi wasn't in our room anymore, so I figured that he was already down in the kitchen. Before I went down to the kitchen to meet up with him, I stopped in Rei's room. I first poked my head in, but saw that he was still asleep in his bed. I figured that I should let him rest since he was working hard on a project, which he just got back from I-island.

I closed the door behind me before I turned around and went down to Chi. Once I was in the kitchen, I went straight to work with making lunch. When we finished making lunch, we put it into containers and left some in the fridge for Rei, then took the rest with us over to Toshi's. Since we weren't in a rush, we decided to take the car. Once we made it to Toshi's apartment, Chi said that he was going to carry the food and stuff, so I led the way.

I knocked on the door since Chi's hands were full, and waited for Toshi to answer the door. After we waited a few seconds, I knocked again, to which there was still no answer. I then tried the doorknob, which surprisingly was unlocked. I looked over to Chi as I cracked it open. He just shrugged his shoulders in response just before I opened the door and walked in, holding the door for Chi.

As Chi walked in, I announced, "Hey, Toshi, it's just Chi and I. The doors unlocked, so we just let ourselves in."

There was no reply, which caused me to worry. He always answers the door, and if he doesn't, he always replies when I call out to him.

Chi followed me in as we gave each other looks of worry. He went over to the dining room table and sat down the container of gyoza, curry, and rice. I looked over and saw that Toshi was asleep on the sofa. I tucked a strand of hair behind my ear as I walked towards him and leaned over the arm of the couch. I gently shook his shoulder, but as soon as I looked up at his face, I noticed that there was something dark dried on his shirt. I then stopped shaking his shoulder and noticed that the same colored stuff was on a tissue that he was holding onto. When I took him by the wrist to look at it, I quickly let go of him upon realizing how freezing cold he was.

Chi looked up at me from where he was standing by the table since he was getting it ready for us to eat, he asked, "What's wrong, hun?" I looked up at him with fear in my eyes. "What is it?" he now asked in a fearful tone. I ignored him and took Toshi's wrist in an attempt to feel for a pulse. I began to panic as I tried to feel for it, but wasn't able to.
