About a year or two later and the kids all had gone out on their own. I honestly had been struggling a lot since no medication was able to help me, so in other words I was back to square one. Chi tried his best to help me the best he could along with everyone else, but I'm too stubborn to reach out like I should. On top of that, Melody had run out one time when Chi was coming back in from going to I-island to work on a project with Rei. We spent hours that day looking for her, but it was to no avail. She was old after all, so we figured in the end that she knew she was going to pass away and ran away like cats do sometimes.
We put up flyers all over the place, asking if anyone had seen an all white rag-doll cat with a missing eye while the other was blue. We didn't hear a single thing. It hurt me a lot since she was my first cat and the one that I had the longest.
One day during the summer when both Chi and I had the day off, we decided on going to the private island that I would teleport to quite a lot when I needed to be alone. I woke up that morning feeling like I was on fire, which didn't help that my wings were wrapped around me, making me even hotter. I sat up and rubbed my face, letting out a sigh since I felt so worn out for doing just about nothing. Hero work wasn't even interesting or "hard" anymore. I knew my way around all of the things that we had to do, which didn't help that I picked up on them when I was just about still in school.
I got out of bed and walked to the dresser to find a pair of shorts and a T-shirt. It was abnormally hot out and I was already beginning to over heat, so I settled with something that didn't cover too much skin; thankfully Chi was the only one home and was the only one who was going to see me. I walked into the bathroom to brush my hair and teeth, then wash my face before I got the washcloth wet with cold water and let it just rest there on my face for a little bit. Chi knocked on the door and walked in, standing next to me as he dug through a drawer, looking for his comb I guessed.
"You okay there, kitten?" he asked. I dropped my head so the rag would fall off my face and onto the counter. I looked down at it, not saying anything. "You look a little under the weather. Are you alright?" he asked in a kind tone.
I sighed before I muttered, "I'm on fire."
"Yeah, it is a little toasty here in the house." agreed Chi as he found his comb. I picked up the washcloth and squeezed it out before I turned around and tossed it into the hamper of dirty clothes before taking off my pajama pants and slipping on the shorts, then the t-shirt. "Man, it must be really hot if you're wearing shorts and a short sleeve shirt." he stated as he combed his hair a little.
"Yeah." I said as I threw what I wore to bed into the hamper also. "But it's not like anyone else is going to see me. We're just going to the private island, so no one will be there and I don't plan on leaving the house otherwise."
He nodded his head, "I guess that works." then put his comb back into the drawer. "So, when are we going to go?" he asked as he leaned against the counter. I slid my hands into the pockets of my shorts and shrugged my shoulders. I walked towards him, standing in front of him as I just looked up at him. He smiled as he pulled me closer to him by my hips. "What if we go now? We can relax around the island, just you and I." he suggested.
I sighed again, "I guess...ready to go then?"
He smiled, "Let me grab my phone first quickly." he said before placing a kiss. He then let go and walked out of the bathroom, which I followed closely behind. He picked his phone up off of his nightstand and turned around to go to the front door so we could put our shoes on before I teleported us to the island. Once we arrived, he put his arm around my waist and looked out at the ocean. "Isn't it breathtaking?"
"I guess it is." I replied.
He tightened his arm around me as he said, "Why don't you cheer up a little bit, kitten"
