Chapter 7: Their turn to move

That Wednesday, school was canceled so that the students could to move into their dorms. I had to supervise the students and those who helped them move, just to be sure that no villain or criminal slipped in among them. Though I was put to work, I was still able to help Chi move Rikka, Rini, and Ryushi. Since I knew where their rooms were located, I was able to teleport their large furniture to their dorm while they carried smaller things in a backpack and boxes. The students weren't supposed to start moving until nine, so I had to be at UA at eight, making it so I had to wake up at seven. I got out of bed and gathered my hero costume before walking into the connected bathroom and got ready. After spending thirty minutes in there, I walked over to the bed and kissed Chi's forehead, waking him a little.

"Be sure to bring Rikka, Rin, and Ryu to school today so they can move into a dorm. Bring Rei with too so he can say bye to them since he won't be seeing them as much. I'll be there already, so I'll catch up with you. I'm also going to leave the car here for you four to take; I'll teleport." I said, "See you around."

Just as I took a step back, he grabbed my hand and pulled me down to his level. He kissed me before he let me go and rolled over, covering his head with the blanket. "Be careful." he said lazily.

I giggled, "Yeah yeah." before I picked up my purse and backpack as I left the bedroom. Just as I was going to walk down the stairs, I saw that Reiji was still up. I knocked on the door lightly before I slipped open the door the rest of the way and walked in. I noticed that Melody was curled up at his feet, sleeping soundly, while he was busy building his invention. He was almost done with it and was then adding a few last details. "Were you up all night?" I asked quietly. Once I was close enough I noticed that he had earbuds in, which was when he noticed that I was there.

He took out an earbud, which I could hear what he was listening to; it was My Chemical Romance. I was surprised that he liked the same music that I listen to, but then again I listened to it when they were little. It also helps that he knows English fluently, so he listened to bands that are mostly in English. He talks in it too, so it's almost like his first language.

"What's up, mother?" he asked as he turned towards me.

"Nothing much; just wondering if you were up all night." I asked again. He didn't respond, just gave a mischievous smile. "Dude, you have to sleep sometime or else you'll be short all your life." I said as I punched his shoulder lightly.

He scoffed, "Sure I will, mother."

"How long until you take a nap?" I asked.

He looked down to his invention and tilted his head from side to side as he thought about it. "I dunno...maybe five or so hours."

I sighed in defeat, "Do you want me to make you a quick breakfast?"

"Sure!" he replied as he took out his other earbud and paused his music.

He then followed me out of his room and down the stairs. "As soon as you get done eating, take a shower and a nap. You can fit in a few hours before you have to go and help the three of them move into their dorms."

"Why do I have to come with?" he whined in a whisper.

"Because you won't see them as much anymore." I said over my shoulder as I dropped my bags by the front door and walked into the kitchen.

I walked to the fridge as Reiji took a seat at the table. I turned towards him to ask something, but I first mumbled to myself as I put my hand to my forehead, "How did I not notice until now?" then removed my hand as I said to him, "You have ink on your glasses." He then removed them and wiped them clean on his shirt that already had many ink smudges. "Now, what do you want to eat?"
