Chi and Rei didn't come back home until about two days later. I started to think that he was never going to come back, that he did lose his mind thinking that I was fake. When he got back, he said that he wasn't going to work on anything for his work until I was better and able to go back to my two jobs. He helped me in every way possible. It reminded me much of when I got kidnapped that second time, that he was there for me and cared for me no matter what happened. Though I tried to be happy and project it onto those around me to show I was more than alright, I couldn't help but feel like shit. It was still January after all, and my body would still react to what pain it had been through when I was a teen. Not only did my body remember the torturous pain, but my mental state did too. I was even more depressed that I have ever been and trust me, I thought I had hit the lowest of lows before. I knew I should have probably talked about it to Chi to help relieve some of the pain, but the feeling of weighing him down too was way worse.
Anyways, I didn't get to work until about a week and a half later. When I got ready in my hero costume that Friday morning, it felt weird. I couldn't quite put my finger on it, but I just had an uneasy feeling. It was repaired by Dave back on I-island and cleaned thoroughly, but I still couldn't shake the feeling. I figured that it was just my mind playing tricks on me, so I tried to push it out of mind the best I could.
I said goodbye to Chi and Rei before I left to go to UA. After that I then had to go to the agency, which I was dreading somewhat. When I arrived to UA, I had to stand there by the car for a second or two, taking it all in of what I missed while I was down for the count. Once I opened the door to the teachers office, the room fell silent. It was so quiet that I was sure you could hear a pin drop on the other side of the earth. I put on the best smile I could muster up and walked in, sliding the door shut behind me. Everyone except Mic and Aizawa stared at me whilst I was walking to my desk. When I made it there, they all looked away and went back to whatever they were doing, but the silence still carried on.
My desk was covered in a fair amount of dust and everything was untouched; which I thought was sort of odd. I cleaned everything off before settling in my chair and pulling out my phone. I didn't know what to do, so as I was on my phone, I tried to think up of something. After a few minutes, I decided that I was to go to Nezu's office and see if he had anything planned for me since whatever I was working on back in December was obviously done by now. As soon as I stood up, nearly everyone looked at me again. I left the room in a fairly quick manner since the tension in the room could have been split by a knife. Once I arrived to Nezu's office, I knocked on the door and waited for the approval to enter. Once it was granted, I walked in.
"Good morning, Blank. It's wonderful to have you back here at UA." he greeted me with a smile.
I too smiled, "Thank you, sir. I'm glad to be back."
"I take it that you're wondering what you are to do now since you've missed nearly a month."
I nodded my head, "Yes, sir."
"Well, there's nothing planned for you to start with, so just try and get back into the routine of things. When you come in on Monday you can start with looking at students' grades and reaching out to them if they look like the need help, along with observing and giving pointers to the second years since they are going to be participating in sparring matches." he explained.
"Yes, sir." I repeated.
He smiled again, "Now, that should be all. Have a good day, and good luck."
"Thank you, you too." I said before I left his office.
On my way back to my desk, I made sure to take my time so that the bell would ring and that no one would really be in the teachers office. It took a little longer for the bell to ring, so I made a couple laps down the halls. After it rang, I walked past the first year rooms on my way back. A boy with pink skin and black hair was talking to Rin, and a boy with a purple-ish shade of hair was sitting next to her. I took it that those were her friends. I was hoping that at least one of them could have been a girl, but I guess in the end it doesn't matter as long as she's happy. When I passed 1-As classroom, I saw that Rikka and Tamori were talking Otokari's ears off as usual.
