A few weeks passed and in that time, Tamori and the twins were able to go back home, Akihiko continued to stay at our house, and Ryu continued to heal. It then also came the day that I was to attend the hero con that the chief asked me to attend. I was dreading it in a way, but I guessed that as long as nothing bad happened from it, which nothing should, I'll be fine. Over the years, I had gotten somewhat used to talking in front of larger sized crowds, so I now can be pretty chill depending on circumstances. For example, if I choose to speak on my own choice, things go a lot more smoothly.
Anyways, when they said that I had to arrive at the hero con, I was supposed to be there at seven in the morning. I said to hell with that and sent a clone in my place since the panel wasn't until noon and I didn't want to be stuck there from so early in the morning till then. So, I stayed in bed and slept in until about nine and left and nine-thirty. Chi came with me along with Rikka, while Akihiko stayed at our place with Ryu since he still was using crutches, and Rei decided that he wanted to go to I-island and attend a convention there instead. Rin went to Takehide's instead of going to the convention with Chi, Rikka, and I.
Once we arrived at the building that it was being held at, I made sure that the clone was out of sight and teleported the three of us to where it was, dissolving the clone as I teleported us. When we appeared, we were in the back area of the building. I then found the way to the main area, which then Rikka was about to go off on her own.
"Rikka." I said, to which she turned around, "Before you go off, you're going to come with us to see Toshi."
She sighed and said under her breath, "Fine."
As we walked along after I used the memory from the clone to show me where the waiting rooms were, I said to Rikka, "You should be excited to see him. He enjoys seeing you kids. He needs the joy since he's always stuck at home due to his condition."
"I love grandpa, I really do, but it hurts me to see him in his condition." she said quietly.
I sighed through my nose, "I know, it hurts me too, but he misses you kids. Now that you all are so busy with school and work, we all don't visit him as often as we used to. I'm honestly not sure how much longer he has anymore, so we should really see him more often."
She mumbled, "Mom...you're gonna make me cry if you talk like that."
"She has a point, Rikka." added Chi, "Though my parents practically disowned me, I wish I had spent more time with them before they passed away."
Rikka hummed sadly just as we made it to the room where Toshi was. I knocked on the door before we walked in. He was reading the newspaper as he was holding onto a cup of coffee, while I also noticed that Aizawa was there, half asleep.
Rikka walked in first as she asked with a smile, "How are you feeling, grandpa?"
I always thought that it was so cute how the kids called him grandpa and still did when they were a little older.
Toshi smiled as he laid the newspaper on his lap, "I'm feeling pretty good today."
Rikka talked to Toshi while I asked Aizawa, "What are you doing here?"
He sighed tiredly, "I could ask you the same."
I squinted my eyes at him and crossed my arms as I said, "I asked you first."
He rolled his eyes before saying, "Hizashi is the announcer again."
"He's done it before?" I asked.
"Of course, what other work besides hero work is the loud mouth supposed to do?" he asked rhetorically which earned a snort from me as I tried not to laugh.
