Hearing the chime of the elevator, I headed into my living room to meet the man who handles a lot of my business affairs. I knew that this man had a temper about him, so meeting him in the privacy of my own home was the most ideal. "Hello Nathan, to what do I owe the pleasure of your company tonight?" I asked him, crossing my arms over my chest as I walked up to him coming out of the elevator.

"We have a small situation, sir. One I felt I needed to bring to your attention," he answered me, a flash of worry in his blue eyes.

"Yes, you mentioned that earlier. What are you so worried about now?" I asked him curiously.

"Well, sir. I am just trying to get it out. Earlier today I met with the manager of The Warehouse. He told me a rather troubling story about something that had happened the night before with one of the employees. I ended up having to call and fire the girl on his behalf, as was the policy in these types of situations." he starts.

Knowing I had been involved in something the night before in the same restaurant he mentioned, I interrupted him. "Who? Which girl did you fire Mr. Wolfe?" I snap at him.

"Oh, well I do believe her name was Azlynn, yeah Azlynn Jennings. Seems she ended up making a move on him and due to the nature of the offense and our no-tolerant policy I had to let her go." He spoke softly as if he was ashamed of what he was uttering. "But while I had her on the phone she started screaming at me, telling me that he was the one that made the move and she threatened to sue us for discrimination. Saying there had to be some type of labor law protecting her from losing her job. I'm sorry but I am stuck here. It is a he said she said type of situation, and I cannot prove any of it either way." he grumbles out. "I just don't know what to do here."

"Actually you can, as I was there that night and can account for Mrs. Jennings' version of the events." I growled out in a low growl, "I can assure you Mr. Wolfe that he hit on her, practically pushing himself onto her. He wasn't taking 'No' for an answer so I got involved and ended up punching him in the face to get him to leave her alone." My patience with the whole situation was running low.

"Oh, no."

"Oh, no, that's right. But I do not want you to call her and offer her the job again. Instead, I think I am planning to offer her a different job, if possible. "I just have to figure out where I want her," I say to him. He looked worried about how I would handle this problem.

"I must say that sounds like an excellent plan, so I do not need to worry about her suing us then. I am really sorry about bringing this issue to you." He said as he sat down on the couch. I sent him a knowing smile.

"Is there anything else I can help you with?" I asked him. I wanted to wrap this up quickly as I was expecting a call from Nick letting me know what her plans were for the evening. I surprised myself that I wanted to know what she was doing, and I didn't need Nathan here while I got that phone call. Sitting down on the couch across from him, I patiently waited for him to say anything else.

"Yes sir, what about Mr. Caldwell? The manager at The Warehouse?" he asks. I was happy to hear about him firing her. That actually made me happy that she wasn't going to have to deal with him as her boss anymore. He was a jerk and didn't deserve the job I gave him.

"I would like you to post a job for the position of restaurant manager so that the position can be filled immediately. Give Mr. Caldwell his notice, notice that he has 60 days to find another job and train his replacement." I watch as he jots down the information.

"Yes, sir." He sends me a smile while he stuffs the papers back into his pocket and stands up. I extend my hand out to him for a shake.

"I do believe that wraps up our business here. Have a pleasant night Nathan. Oh and give my love to the lovely Mrs. Wolfe." I added as I thought about his wife. She was really a lovely woman with such a kind heart. I watched as he climbed into the elevator. After the doors closed I looked down at my watch. It was 11:00 pm. What was taking Nick so long to get back to me? I started pacing back and forth in the room. I really hated being kept waiting for something that meant a great deal to me.

When the phone finally did ring, I noticed that it was indeed him. I answered the call placing the phone against my ear. "Hello?"

"Hey boss," he whispered, and that made me wonder if something had happened to her.

"Nick, what is wrong? Tell me that Azlynn is okay!" I demanded of him.

"Oh, she's fine boss. I am on my way over to your place with her right now. Seems you were completely right about her... she makes horrible decisions and puts herself into terrible situations. I had to step in. I ended up throwing a guy out of the club. That sure is a nice club by the way!" He informed me.

"Okay, thanks... what club were you at? And now back to Azlynn... is she okay?" It was disappointing to me that I was unable to be there myself.

"Again, she is perfectly fine. Right now she's sound asleep in my back seat." He replied, "I'll be pulling up outside your building in about 20 minutes. Meet me downstairs and I will hand her off to you. We were at Bubble, she decided to hang out with a group of friends."

I rolled my eyes as I pictured her out with friends. Hoping into the elevator I placed a call to the maid service in the building. "Yes, I need my guest room prepped for a guest who is arriving and it needs to be down within the next 20 minutes. My guest will be staying with me for a while, so I will need a visitor pass or whatever you do for them made up and left on the dresser. Thanks." I hung up before the lady could answer me or ask any questions. They knew that I meant business whenever I called and I knew they would have it done because I do not call them very often.

Seeing his car pull up to the curb, I walk up closer as he climbs out of the driver's seat. "What happened Nick?" I asked him as he opened the door and I glanced in to see her sleeping form lying on the seat. He tugged her out as carefully as he could and placed her in my arms.

"Well, she got wasted and a guy tried to take advantage of that. But I stopped it before it got too far out of hand. She will wake up with a massive hangover in the morning," he says turning around to climb back into the vehicle. "I expect to find my payment in my account in the morning?" He looks at me, pausing before he shuts the door.

"It will be there, thank you so much for doing this," I reply, and turning around with her in my arms I head upwards to my penthouse. As the elevator doors open and I walk into my home I feel her flinch, glancing into her face as I make my way into my guest room. It was prepared for her according to my instructions. I set her down gently on the bed and pulled up the blanket. I tucked her in. I couldn't bring myself to leave her right now, so I sat on the edge of the bed and just watched her sleep for a while. She looked so peaceful as she slept. Never have I craved a woman the way that I craved her. She will be mine, someday I will make that happen.

Eventually, I walked out of the room. I hardly sleep anymore nowadays. I had a lot going on in my life, and she only added to it all. Walking into my office I decided to occupy my mind with some more work. After all, I needed to clear up my day for her tomorrow. I knew I was in for a fight, as I was going to inform her that she was moving in with me asap. I wanted her safe, so that meant keeping her here with me so that I could watch over her.

I have no clue how a woman could get herself into so much trouble. However, I didn't like that she always seemed to be in some kind of trouble. I was determined to change that. I just needed to figure everything out.
