That night I felt something. It felt like a straining sensation. I couldn't keep my eyes closed, my body kept shifting down the bed, almost like I was being pulled by some unseen force into the unknown world outside. Nothing felt right, and I curled into myself, trying to dispel the cold air from my body. The darkness called out to me. My eyes went to every corner of the large palace bedroom and I could feel the shadows creep slowly towards me, enveloping me in their creepy embrace. I pulled the covers over my head, trying to clear my mind.
Did I have a fever? My forehead wasn't hot-
Maybe it's just my stupid imagination. I think too much anyway, it's all probably normal. The sound of hooves landing on the floor made me freeze up. I closed my eyes, horrified as the covers were pulled back.
A low hum rumbled through the room, and though I was shaking, and the noise itself sounded terrifying to my ears, the rest of my body seemed to yearn it. What in Celestia's name was going on? That is a fucking terrifying thing and you're thinking about how it somehow turns you on? Why N/N why!
"This is not helpful, you ignorant mare..." The stallion muttered under his breath. I felt his hoof touch my cheek for a split second, and a warm shock rattled through me. "Let us hope, for both our sakes that this becomes nothing more than what it is now. A burden."
With that, the covers were placed back onto my body, and the presence of the stallion disappeared from the room. I looked behind me, blinking in the moonlight.
The window was still open.
The pulling sensation had stopped, and so had the shadows advance. With nothing else to keep me awake, I fell into a fragile slumber.
Waking, I readied myself. He may not think this should become anything, but I sure as hell am not going to pass this by. I'll find that idiotic stallion if it's the last thing I do, Celestia's approval be damned. Rushing from my guest room, I made my way downstairs. Of course she was waiting there-
"Y/N, where are you going?"
"The- the market. I wanted to grab a few things as I headed home."
"Oh, you're leaving us already?"
"Yes, I don't want to trouble you," I said, walking past with an apologetic smile." As I left her earshot I muttered, "At least then I won't be a burden to you as well."
As I left the castle, the princess rushed over to me. She's really bent on me staying apparently. "Now hold on, are you sure you aren't being rash?"
"Apologies for leaving suddenly your majesty but no, I believe I am doing the right thing."
"You passed the market a while ago-" She stopped, probably realising what I was doing. "Y/N, stop."
I increased my speed to a trot.
"Y/N. This isn't the way to go about it. What if you get hurt?"
I switched to a canter.
"Wait! We can talk this out!"
I rushed from the Canterlot gates and into the forest beyond. Celestia called out to me, saying she could help me find him but I was having none of it. If anyone could find him, it had to be the mare connected to him right?
Right?
