Be confident? All my confidence left me as soon as I met Sombra.
I don't know what to do. I don't know what to say.
"I-"
"Y/N. You tell me right now what your decision is or so help me I will have to make it for you. You don't want that." He let me pull away from his touch.
"Trust me," he said, "I have enough sense left to know you don't want what I want."
"What do you want..?" I whispered, regretting it as soon as it left my mouth.
He only smiled, a coldness in his eyes. We stayed silent for a while and I finally opened my mouth to speak.

"I want to be with you-"
"Are you sure?" Sombra interrupted, raising an eyebrow sceptically.
I rubbed my forehead in annoyance. "Let me finish, Sombra, please. I'm trying to put into words how I'm feeling."
He held up a hoof in fake surrender. "Alright, the floor is yours Y/N."
I cleared my throat, beginning again. "I want to be with you, Sombra, but I know I can't. Every time you are involved, I make decisions that get ponies hurt, and I don't think I can handle being a part of that. I've thought a lot about it, and I know that leaving you will probably also get ponies hurt, but I believe that it's a better outcome to staying. I want to leave, and-" I stopped and bit my lip, preparing myself to finish. "I want you to let me go. If I leave, don't contact me again. If I leave, just let me try and get past this, thing. Whatever this has turned into, it's more toxic than it's worth."
Sombra hummed as I slumped down a bit, worried about what he might respond with.
"So, basically, you want to leave and never see me again, even if you don't actually want that?"
"I guess- sure... that's one way of looking at it."
"I see. It explains why you kept running to and from both sides," he murmured, sitting down on the floor.

Each second was filled with tension as I watched Sombra deep in thought. Every so often he would mutter something but I could never make out what he said.

"I appreciate you telling me the truth. Now," he began, his body shaking slightly and his breaths starting to become laboured, "I will tell you what I want. After I have finished, you need to either stay, or run as fast as you fucking can so I can't catch you when I inevitably change my mind about letting you leave."

"W-what?" I looked up at him in shock.

"You heard me Y/N. Don't make me start again. I don't have enough willpower." He waited for me to nod and then continued. "What I want, is for you to stay here, forever. What I want, is for no one else to lay their eyes on you. What I want, Y/N, what I really want, is to be the only one that can have you." He stood up again, an almost menacing aura emanating from him. "In my eyes, you're mine, only mine, and anyone who can't see that should perish." Sombra stroked the back of my neck, running a hoof through my mane. After a few seconds he pulled away and walked to the other side of the room.

"Make your choice, and make it quickly."

My mind started racing. I don't want that. He wants a possession. I was right when I said this relationship had manifested wrong. He's, he's almost obsessed...

I stood from my position on the bed, the covers falling to the ground in slow motion. I gave Sombra one final look to see him hunched over in the corner, hooves covering his face. I could hear his heavy breathing.

Bursting through the doors, my galloping rung out in the castle halls. I sped past guards and servants alike, who all stared as I came past, eyes wide and panicked. Only one word repeated in my mind.

"Run."
