I woke to the sound of birds chirping. Opening my eyes, I didn't recognise my surroundings. I shot up, my head whipping from side to side and my heartrate increasing rapidly.

"Shhhh, you're safe here," a calming voice uttered.

I turned to the sound of the voice and saw Princess Celestia standing beside the bed. The previous nights events all came flooding back. I checked the back of my head with my hoof and Celestia shook her head.

"That small wound has been dealt with. Do not be afraid of this place Y/N, we are only trying to help." She let a small smile grace her features but in the pit of my stomach I still felt only fear. As I curled into myself under the covers of the expensive castle bed, I heard Celestia sigh and leave the room, locking the door behind her.

So I was in a prison cell. A very padded prison cell.

I stayed under those covers for almost the entire day, not even getting up when a member of the castle staff left me food by my door.

It was only when the sun set completely that I decided to step out of the bed. I eyed the food warily, scared that it could be drugged with something and I would be dragged away somewhere. No, I'm not doing anything the princess wants me to do until I know her intentions. I need answers from her. Why did she come looking for me? How did she find me? How did she know it was Sombra that held me captive?

Well- I wasn't really captive there...

A knock at the door broke me from my train of thought. I slowly turned my head towards the source of the sound and waited in silence. Celestia's voice rang out.

"Y/N? I don't know if you've come out from the bedcovers yet but- if you have, I want to speak with you."

"Why?" I asked, my distrust clear in my tone.

"I assume you have questions? Well, I have answers." She paused before adding, "Just knock on the door if you're ready to talk. I think we'll find some common ground..."

I heard her leave the hallway and I let out a sigh of relief. Common ground? Where the hell did she think we would find common ground? She kidnapped me for crying out loud!

Before she came and told me about this bond, I'd never talked to anyone special. I'd never done anything important. I'd never visited anywhere except the city of Canterlot. And now here I was, locked in a room inside Canterlot Castle, and hoping for a pony who is seen in the eyes of ponykind as evil and insane to come and save me.

"What the fuck is going on!" I screamed out of nowhere, stamping my front hooves down on the floor. None of the craziness seemed to catch up to me when all I could think about was Sombra, but now that I'm here, alone, in a room far from my soulmate, replaying the events in my head just made me more and more confused.

I knocked on the door and it was opened by a guard.

"I need a fuck ton of answers and you'd better hope for everyone's sake that Celestia can give me them."
