I woke up the next morning, and he was gone again. I guess that plan of his really is important to him...
Sitting up, I squinted my eyes at the rising sun streaming in through the cavern entrance. My body sagged at the knowledge that I probably wouldn't see Sombra till that same sun had fallen from the sky. I heaved myself out of the bed, shaking my head profusely. No, no you will not fall for that stallion Y/N. Sure there have been a few 'minor' hiccups in that journey but you're going to stand strong! In fact- to prove to myself that I'm still as independent as I was before I met him, I'm going to leave the cavern.
"You hear that world, I'm going to leave this damn place! I'm my own pony and I don't have to stay here! Ok?" I yelled into the air, for some reason expecting a reply that never came. With that I huffed and walked towards the entrance. I placed my hoof onto the barrier that kept out the frozen norths winds, and I could feel the biting cold coming from outside. I retreated back inside to find something to wrap myself in.
Bedsheets... Pillow cases... Bloodied wolf hide...
My eyes suddenly landed on something red sitting in the corner. I walked over and held it up in my hoof. The slight tingling sensation I felt when I made contact with it removed any doubt from my mind. This was Sombra's cloak. I inspected it. It was soft but still made of a thick material. It would fit around me pretty well- at least I hoped. As I brought it up to place around me, my body took control and pulled it up to my muzzle. I could smell him on it...
God Y/N get a hold of yourself! Shaking my head again, I quickly draped it over me and fastened it around my neck before turning towards the opening. I took a deep breath and walked over to it once more. My heart was begging me to just forget about this stupid idea, to throw the cloak back on the floor and wait for Sombra to return but I stood firm. I looked back at the bed and a final pang echoed from my heart. I clenched my jaw and stepped outside of the barrier.
The freezing cold hit me instantly and I had to shield my face to stop it from freezing off. I clutched the cloak closer to my body and began tentatively walking in a random direction. Why am I doing this? This is such a stupid idea... After walking for only a minute, I decided to just turn back. Not only was the ice biting into my skin, but I just couldn't handle how much my heart was hurting from the decision I'd made. I turned around and began walking back, quicker than I had walked away. I could see the cave in sight and I couldn't stop the smile that came to my face. Whether it was for the mere prospect of shelter or knowing that Sombra would be there at the end of the day, I couldn't tell.
As I got ever closer to the cave entrance, I began to see a light shining to my left. Turning my head to the side, I saw something emerging from the raging storm. I could see the outline of a figure. A long horn, wings-
Celestia.
Without thought I began running towards the cave entrance, the cold winds nipping heavily at my exposed skin. I skidded to a halt when I entered the cavern. Pulling off Sombra's cape and chucking it to the side, I hid behind one of the walls, praying she wouldn't see me.
"Y/N? I know you're there, I saw you running from me. It's ok, I'm not here to hurt you. I'm not King Sombra."
I stayed completely silent.
"I'm going to break down this barrier and get you to safety, do you understand?"
My eyes widened. Break the barrier? Get me to safety? What exactly was she saying?
Before I could think anymore on it, huge gales of snow blew into the cavern, the barrier completely shattered. Everything in the cavern was immediately crushed and covered in snow, everything that reminded me of him-
Celestia entered, and I scrambled away from her, behind the bed.
"Y/N, I'm here to help, don't you understand?" She stood before me, a bubble of her magic protecting her from the cold wind. I scrambled backwards as fast as I could but hit my head on a sharp rock protruding from the cavern wall. I lay there helpless and in shock as she picked me up using her magic, blood dripping slowly from the small head wound and onto the undisturbed snow behind the bed.
I lost consciousness as the sun high in the sky hit my eyes.
