With that said, he turned away from me and inspected his new victim, my feeble cries of 'no' not reaching his ears.

Hazel looked up at the king defiantly, even though he knew how this interaction would end.

"Hm. A shame you can't use your magic to defend yourself. Then again-" he scoffed, almost in chiding way, "what could a meaningless, unimportant little shit like you ever do to combat me?" He stood towering above Hazels weak frame, the difference in power obvious.

"If I'm so unimportant," Hazel wheezed, looking straight back at his king with a stony glare, "then why do you care so much about Y/N's relationship with me?"

A shiver ran down my back. The assembled crowd held a collective breath as they waited for Sombra's response.

After a few seconds, he finally let out a low, menacing laugh. "Maybe we should be rid of that mouth."

I watched in horror as Hazels screams were cut short, dark crystal rushing out of his mouth. He lay there, hoofing frantically at his throat, his eyes wide and scared.

"I suppose you're lucky," Sombra stated plainly. "You get to die a lot faster than I originally planned."

Hazel's eyes snapped over to me as he mouthed help over and over again, each second making him more and more frantic.

Sombra stepped between us. "Don't look at her. You've done enough of that already."

From behind him, I could only struggle against his crystal, my eyes taking in every crisp detail as blood began dripping onto the ground. I strained my neck, praying to see Hazel again, but Sombra would not allow it. His horn glowed and the dark crystal crept up my neck until I could no longer move.

The armoured king moved slowly to Hazels side, giving me a view of the blood slowly pooling from his mouth, almost like a delicate waterfall sculpture...

I was brought back to attention when an iron-clad hoof forced Hazel's limbs to the ground one by one, and encased them in crystal.

"I do love it when they struggle..." Sombra said, sounding so pleased- so contented. If I could have run in that moment, I would have.

Sombra clasped his hoof around Hazels muzzle, cutting off his only other air supply.

He didn't stand a chance.

Hazel struggles slowly grew weaker and weaker, the panic in his eyes beginning to fade as his heart stopped beating.

Once Sombra was sure he was gone, he pulled Hazels limp form from the restraints and threw him aside before trying to wipe the blood from his hoof, achieving a smeared red mark instead.

"Two down." His eyes rested on me once more. "I had not intended to show this side of myself to you, but you just refused to be ignorant." His hoofsteps rang in my ears as he walked over to me. "What did you think would happen? How could you possibly expect me to act in any other way to what you've wrapped yourself in? No one steals you away from me. No one." My head was cupped in his hoof again. "And surely you knew I would easily retrieve these traitors from Celestia. She holds no power over me."

He pushed a strand of my mane away from my face.

"No one holds power over me, Y/N."
