I shot off into the dark night, my limbs crying out to rest and my brain crying out to run. In the distance I could make out three figures, one of them frantically waving to me.

They waited... A sense of relief washed over me before I remembered who was hot on our tails. I ran past them and they caught up to me, yelling through the wind.

"What's wrong?" Hazel shouted, his hooves spurring past the snow.

"Sombra found the tunnel!" I cried back to him.

They all sped up instantly and I had to bite back the pain in my legs and follow their lead. Who knew how long it would take Sombra to catch us up. Minutes probably...

Our only hope was to get far enough into the wind and snow to lose him.

My breathing ragged, I stumbled into the wind with the others, razor sharp snow cutting through my exposed skin. I used my wings to shelter my eyes as we ran, trying to ignore the feeling of my wings on fire.

Finally, we spotted a faint light in the distance. Hazel ran towards it, disappearing into the snow, with Cocoa and Caramel right behind him. I had slowed to a walk, every fibre of my being in utter agony. With tears streaming down my face, I looked up to see the Crystal Empire train station come into view.

Hope flourished in my heart and I found a new sense of purpose. My legs straightened and I ran full speed towards the building as a train began pulling up at the tracks. I skidded to a stop as my hooves stepped up onto the platform.

They finally gave out and I fell to the ground, my heart thundering in my chest. A shadow was cast over me and I looked up only to see Princess Celestia-

On instinct I scrambled away from her, or at least tried. My limbs could barely move. "G-get away from me!" I cried, my throat burning as my voice scraped through it.

"Y/N, I'm here to help you, I swear-"

"No," I said, cutting her off. "No, you don't help me. I know that now." I managed to shift my body an inch backwards, staring at her with as much betrayal as I could muster. "Leave me alone," I whispered.

"Your friends are already on the train and if I don't get you on now you may never escape Y/N."

"What are you even doing here princess?" I yelled at her.

She sighed. "We don't have time for this. King Sombra will be tracking you down as we speak-"

"Tell me!"

"I was here to spy on the empire. To make sure nothing drastic had happened yet..." She said, reaching out a hoof to me.

I shook my head. "Don't touch me."

Celestia's horn glowed brightly and before I could utter a word she had levitated me into the train. It sped off as soon as the doors closed.

As I adjusted to the warm temperature of the train, I tried to stand up. My legs just- weren't responding. I could feel them but I couldn't move...

It was at that realisation that the train was thrust from it's tracks, windows smashing inwards and glass covering my body. Shadows as black as night invaded the carriages, enveloping everything in sight. I could hear screaming from the next train car but my focus soon turned to something else.

Someone else.
