Being Erin's girlfriend and working at Chicago Med

I was on shift at Chicago Med. I had to leave the apartment I shared with Erin before she even woke up. I left her a note telling her I had to go to work early and that I loved her and that I would hopefully see her tonight at some point.

I hated having to be at work so early until so late, but I knew what I was getting into when I decided I wanted to be a surgeon. I was one of the best surgeons in my field.

I had just finished a complicated surgery and was making my way to my locker to send a quick text to Erin and check in on her to make sure she was okay. I always worried about her and she always worried about me. I never understood why, she was the one going after law breakers not me.

I got near to the locker room when I heard Maggie shouting after someone. "Hey! You can't just leave that bag there!" I turned to see someone hurriedly walking away and out the doors.

I walked over to Maggie and shrugged. Just as we were both walking over to the bag to get a closer look...it exploded....

I don't remember what happened next, I just remember hitting my head and blacking out.

Erin's POV

I was sitting at my desk looking down at my phone, we didn't have a case at the moment so I was waiting for Y/n to message me to make sure she was okay. I looked up when I heard Jay approaching.

"Hey Lindsay, what you doing?"

I rolled my eyes. "Nothing why?"

Jay laughed. "Oh no reason, you just keep glaring at your phone that's all."

I rolled my eyes again. "I'm just waiting for Y/n to text me."

Jay laughed even harder and sat on the edge of my desk. "She's probably busy."

I shook my head. "Doesn't stop me worrying Jay."

This time Jay rolled his eyes. "Shouldn't it be the other way round? I mean she's a surgeon for crying out loud, what could happen?"

Hank walked out of his office, looking pale. "I need everyone's attention now!"

I looked up. "What's wrong? Do we have a case?"

Hank rubbed his head. "There was a call...there's been an explosion at Chicago Med..."

I quickly got up and ran down the stairs. I needed to get there and make sure Y/n was okay!

Your POV

"Y/N? Y/N?!" I blinked slowly to see Will and Natalie standing over me. I groaned. "What the hell?" Will was checking me over.

"Oh thank god! You're okay!" Natalie looked relieved. Will slowly helped me up. "Okay Y/n, you look okay, but you may have a concussion."

I looked around at the destruction the bomb had caused. "Wait is Maggie okay?!" Natalie put her hand on your shoulder. "She's okay, we got her checked out."

Just as I was about to say something I was getting called to go help a patient. Everyone was needed because of what had happened.

Erin's POV

Jay decided to drive, he decided I was in no state to drive. "Jay can you hurry up!"

Jay looked over at me. "Erin calm down, I'm sure she's fine."

"DON'T TELL ME TO CALM DOWN! YOU DON'T KNOW SHES OKAY!"

"Okay, you're right I'm sorry."

We soon pulled up to Chicago Med along with the others. I quickly jumped out of the car and ran to the entrance.

I looked around but couldnt see Y/n anywhere. I was really starting to panic. I saw Natalie and Will and went running over to them. "Nat, Will, have you guys seen Y/n? Is she okay?!"

Will and Natalie turned around and smiled. "Y/n's okay Erin, she hit her head, but Will checked her out and she's fine."

"Where is she?"

"She's looking after other patients but I'll page her now."

Your POV

I had just finished with a patient when my pager went off. I quickly left the room and rushed to the entrance. I saw Erin sitting on a chair with her head in her hands.

I stood there and breathed out in relief. "Erin!"

Erin quickly looked up and when she noticed me she jumped up and ran towards me. I opened my arms and she quickly ran into them, wrapping her arms around my waist. I wrapped my arms around her neck and squeezed.

Erin pulled back and checked me over. "Oh my god babe, I was so worried!"

I smiled. "I'm okay baby, I banged my head, but I'm okay."

Before Erin could say anything, I pulled her into a kiss. Erin squeaked in surprise but quickly sank into the kiss. I smiled when I felt her relax against me.

I pulled away and rested my forehead against hers.

"I love you Erin."

"I love you too Y/n."
