Being the teenage daughter of an FBI agent was hard but it was harder when my mother worked for the BAU. She was hardly ever home...until she got pregnant...then she was home for months after having Henry.

I thought it would be great, having mom home so much, I had missed spending time with her....but she was too preoccupied with Henry to even notice me...it was like I didn't exist.

All she cared about was Henry and I've had enough. I got ready for school and went out to the kitchen, phone in hand. I looked up when I heard mom talking to the baby.

I rolled my eyes at the sight of mom fussing over the baby. "Hey mom, I'm going to school now..." I looked at mom again as I made my way to the door. "Argh! Forget it!" I quickly walked out slamming the door behind me.

JJ's POV

I felt like a terrible mother, yes Henry needed me more, but I seemed to forget that I also have a teenager that needed me. When Y/n gets home from school later, I'm going to make sure to spend some quality time with her.

I had decided I needed to get out of the apartment, so I got Henry ready and headed down to the BAU to see everyone.

It was so great to see everyone. I left Henry with Penelope and went to speak with Aaron in her office.

"How's Y/n been lately?"

I sighed and put my head in my hands. "Honestly? I don't know I'm a terrible mother."

Aaron came and sat next to me, putting her hand on my shoulder. "Hey no you're not, your a fantastic mother, you've just had a baby, you need to cut yourself some slack."

Just as I was about to say something my phone buzzed. I looked down to see that it was Y/n's school.

Phone call in bold.

JJ: Agent Jareau speaking

Principal: Hello, this is principal Lyons, I was wondering if Y/n was off sick today?

JJ: No, she left this morning, is she not at school?

Principal: No, I'm afraid she didn't turn up this morning.

JJ: I'll get to the bottom off it thank you.

Phone call ended.

I looked up at Aaron, tears pooling in my eyes. "Hey, what is it? What's wrong?"

"Y/n didn't make it to school this morning...she's missing Aaron."
