You was all sitting in the living room talking about what you was going to do and what the best line of defence was going to be if it came down to it.

You was comfortably sitting on Tanya's lap listening to Edward. "Aro will want us incapacitated before he attacks. Jane and Alec will try and take me out first because I can anticipate their moves."

You looked over to Garrett who was standing near Kate. "Too bad we don't all have your shield."

Bella shook her head. "Doesn't help me fight though."

You cuddled closer into Tanya. "No, but you could help the rest of us, if you could project it."

Bella looked confused. "What do you mean?"

Tanya smiled. "I mean shield someone other than yourself."

Bella looked hopeful. "Is that possible?"

You nodded. "Gifts can be developed, over time."

Kate spoke up. "At first, mine was just in my palms, now I can radiate it all over my body."

Bella grabbed Kate's hand and squeezed a little too hard. "How do you do it?."

Kate sighed.

"Tell me."

"Ow."

You couldn't help but laugh at that. That earned an eye roll and a jab in the side from Tanya. You huffed, got up and followed Kate, Bella, Edward, Garrett and Emmett outside.

"You need to visualize it. See how it moves. What colour it is. Now picture it expanding. Will it to go beyond you."

Bella tried but had no luck. You couldn't help but roll your eyes. She turned to you and growled. "If it's so easy why don't you come and do it?!"

You rolled your eyes again. "I don't have to I can do it already, I've had longer to practice."

Kate sighed. "I think she needs something to motivate her."

Bella frowned, though you understood what Kate was talking about and grinned when Edward took a step forward.

Finally Bella caught on. "No."

Edward smiled. "It's all right I can take it."

Garrett grinned at Emmett. "He says that now."

You smiled and nudged Garrett. "Oh shut up, just because you're a big baby."

Emmett grinned at the interaction before looking back to Bella. "Focus Bella, or he's gonna be hurting."

You watched as Edward reached his hand out to Kate. Bella sounded panicked. "Edward, I'm not ready to do this yet."

You smirked as Edward screeched, giving Bella a dirty look. Bella shook her head. "I'm sorry I said I wasn't ready."

Emmett frowned at Edward. "Dude, you're not motivating her."

Edward got up off the ground. "You want to try?" You couldn't help but chuckle again. Emmett raised his hands in surrender.

Bella again tried to get her shield up but it didn't work, Edward still ended up grunting in pain. "Kate!"

Kate smiled. "You seem to lack incentive. Should I go see if Renesmee's awake?"

Bella took a step closer to Kate. "Are you crazy?"

Kate took a step closer to Edward. "Alright. This one's on full power."

Edward groaned at Bella. You all watched with bated breath. Bella seemed to start focusing and even though you could all see that Kate's gift was affecting him, it wasn't that bad it was painful but it was bearable.

Bella got excited. "Okay we should go again."

Edward took a step back. "Emmett."

Emmett raised his hands in surrender. "I'm good, what about Y/n."

You rolled your eyes. "No point with me, Kate's gift doesn't work on me, remember?"
