Everyone was sitting in the Cullen's living room. You was standing behind the couch, directly behind Tanya. You had your arms folded and listened intently to Eleazer.

"When Aro wants someone from a coven, it's never long before evidence turns up proving that coven committed some sort of crime."

Bella scoffed. "So he's done this before?"

Eleazer nodded. "It happens so rarely, I never realized it was a pattern."

Carlisle looked around at everyone. "Apparently he always pardons one person whose thoughts he claims are repentant."

Eleazer nodded again. "This person always has an ability. And they're always given a place with the guard."

Edward shook his head. "This is all about Alice. He has no one like her."

Bella frowned. "Which is why she left."

Emmett looked confused. "Why does he need witnesses?"

Alastair spoke up from his spot in the corner of the room. "To spread the word that justice has been served. After he slaughters an entire coven."

You watched as Carmen rested her hand on Tanya's shoulder in a comforting matter. You looked to Amun and Kebi who walked over to Benjamin and Tia. "Benjamin, Tia, we're leaving."

Edward scoffed. "And where will you go? What makes you think they'll be satisfied with Alice? What's to stop them from going after Benjamin next? Or Zafrina or Kate or Y/n or anyone else with a gift? Anyone they want." You noticed Tanya look to Kate and then to you when Edward said that. You smiled at her and shook your head.

Edward carried on talking. "Their goal isn't punishment, it's power. It's acquisition. Carlisle might not ask you to fight, but I will. For the sake of my family, but also for yours and for the way you want to live."

You looked round at everyone, noticing they was all deep in thought. Jacob was the first to stand up. "The packs will fight. We've never been afraid of vampires."

Tanya stood up next along with Kate and Carmen. "We will fight."

Garrett looked over at you and you went to stand next to him and nodded. Garrett grinned at you. "This won't be the first time we've fought a king's rule."

Benjamin was next. "We will join you." Amun turned sharply. "No!" Benjamin shook his head. "I will do the right thing, Amun. You may do as you please."

Everyone else soon followed.

You heard Vladimir mutter to Stefan. "That didn't take much." You couldn't help but roll your eyes at them.

Edward frowned. "Let's hope it doesn't come to that."

Alastair stood closer to Carlisle. "We'll see."

Alastair quickly left the room.
