Athena and Durham were scheduled for testing with SCP-914. The two researchers had a couple of items, for them to test the machine on. Athena was carrying a plastic container, containing the items they requested, while Durham was beside her with her clipboard.

"Let's see here..." Durham checked on her clipboard and started to list off the items needed for testing. "One wristwatch?"

"Check." Athena replied.

"One mobile phone?"

"Check."

"Five copies of the Mona Lisa on paper?"

"Check."

"And... three blocks of steel?"

"Check."

"Alright, that's about everything we need for testing." Durham said to her research assistant. "Have you done your research on this SCP already?"

"Yes, I have." Athena replied. "I read the description and prior tests."

"Okay, then." Durham said. "Prove it."

"Alright." Athena replied, sounding confident. "SCP-914, also known as 'The Clockworks', is a machine which weighs several tons and covering an area of eighteen square meters, consisting of screw drives, belts, pulleys, gears, springs and other clockwork."

"Alright, I guess you have read the file." Durham said, in awe of her research assistant's memorisation of the file.

"It's a habit I have." Athena replied. "I'm always aiming for the top of the class back in my college days."

"I can see that." Durham smiled.

They continued to walk down the hallways of the site, talking along the way to pass time. They eventually made it to the containment room of SCP-914.

There were two guards stationed there, in accordance with the Special Containment Procedures for the SCP.

"Good morning, Researcher Durham." one of the guards greeted. "I assume you're going to be testing SCP-914 today?"

"Yes, we are." Durham answered.

The guard then opened the door with his keycard.

"You may step inside, ma'am." the guard said. "Be sure to alert us for anything peculiar or strange."

"Of course." Durham replied. "Come on, Athena."

With that, the two researchers went inside and the guard closed the door behind them. They were now in front of the SCP.

The SCP appeared to be a machine, with three main parts: the input chamber, the main clockwork, and the output chamber. The input and output parts have a fairly large space inside, to put items in and the results of said item, respectively.

The two parts are connected to the main clockwork, which is where the process occurs. It has a knob where it has the settings of 'rough', 'coarse', '1:1', 'fine' and 'very fine', in a clockwise arrangement. Below the knob, there lies a turning key, to start the process.

"Wow..." Athena reacted.

"Here's SCP-914." Durham formally introduced. "Let's not waste more time with testing, shall we Athena?"

"Yeah, we shall." Athena replied.

"Okay, first off, we'll start with the blocks of steel." Durham told her assistant. "We'll start with one and we'll go on from there."

"Alright." Athena understood.

Athena put down the container on a table, tucked away in the far southwest corner. She got one of the blocks of steel, weighing 250 grams.
