"What hell's going on down there?"

"Not sure, but it doesn't look good." the older Chinese operative responded. "Just what are they doing?"

"Look!"

When the two looked at the group's situation again, and they see the cultist aiming a pistol at the peacekeeper, with the tomboy and joker's rifles trained on him.

"We gotta do something!" the younger Chinese operative responded. "Quick, we gotta take him down now!"

"I'd rather not waste bullets helping them, Chang." the older Chinese operative advised. "Don't even think about it."

"They're gonna get hurt if we don't help!"

"If they want us to stay put, then that's what we'll do." the older Chinese operative sighed. "What happens next is their own responsibility."

"Chang?"

The younger Chinese operative looked over to the Asian-American operative, with his rifle aiming at the cultist; he looked frustrated, torn with the decision of pulling the trigger or leaving it be.

Meanwhile, the group were at a standstill with the athlete, still seemingly buried in thought as he stared blankly.

"Dustin?"

"I know that look..." the tomboy responded, lowering her rifle. "He's thinking about this..."

"Well, how about that..." the joker followed suit. "Looks like we're gonna get through this with no issue, yeah?"

-----

"Why do you hesitate, my son?"

"I... I dunno... but..."

"Don't hesitate, you're making yourself vulnerable. Just kill them all."

"I..."

Dustin was alone in a dark area, with only a candle next to him, emitting a somewhat dim light. He could hear the deity's voice in his head, watching and waiting to do his bidding.

Yet, Dustin sighed, shaking his head.

"I can't..."

"What?"

"You heard me." the athlete responded. "I'm tired... and I feel like I've done a lot already. And I'm probably not strong enough to deal with this..."

"But you haven't done enough..."

The athlete was surprised to hear a somewhat familiar voice. He looked to see Cunningham walk towards him, looking at him with a serious expression.

"Remember what they did to you, to me, to us... you seriously gonna believe them after everything you've been through?"

The athlete stayed silent.

"You've been through a lot, and I know that..." the optimist put her hand on his shoulder, smiling. "I'll make everything better for you... for us."

The optimist put her other hand on the athlete's other shoulder.

"I promise. Just take your much deserved revenge."

The athlete looked deep into the optimist's eyes, then he saw that the pupils are slightly glowing a dim red colour. He sees that the glow became brighter and brighter, eventually glowing a crimson red.
