"huening kai! stop eating those marshmallows! those are for later!" yeonjun shouted from the side of the cottage where he grills the meat for them to eat later. huening kai was near the grocery bags where yeonjun caught him eating sweets. those marshmallows are to be eaten later when they're sitting in front of a bonfire.

they have planned to stay up until 9pm there in the beach. that time is already yeonjun's time to sleep but he surprisingly agreed to stay up late today even though they all have work tomorrow. maybe he's enjoying the hours of them at the beach, especially because he's with his friends.

now, they're just waiting for the meat to be cooked but it's taking yeonjun so long to cook it. so, out of boredom, taehyun stood up and held one hand each of huening kai and beomgyu and went straight to the water. they started playing again there and just agreed to come back in their cottage once the meat is ready to eat.

"i'll help you. how do you cook these?" soobin asked as he was holding the packs of ramen that yeonjun bought earlier at the grocery store. yeonjun was left there, his mouth wide open. "close your mouth, what the hell."

"seriously?!" yeonjun said after he shook his head. he can't believe it. cooking instant ramen is easy so why the hell does this man know nothing about cooking it? "you don't have an idea how to cook ramen?"

soobin shook his head and pouted like he was getting shy. yeonjun chuckled, still can't believe at what he just discovered. it's just ramen! who in this world doesn't know how to cook these? ah, choi soobin!

and so, he left the meat there and went to soobin and was ready to teach him how to cook the ramen. "you just simply place water in a pot and let it boil."

as yeonjun was speaking and giving instructions, soobin was doing everything yeonjun said. from boiling the water to placing the noodles, he was doing it like he was the most obedient person there is. when yeonjun saw how soobin was already doing fine without his help, he went back to the meat he was grilling and was now cutting them into small pieces for them to share later.

"what do you do with your life?" yeonjun asked soobin out of the blue while the two of them were cooking. soobin, who was looking straight into the ramen, looked at yeonjun, confused.

"me?" asked soobin. "i work."

yeonjun rolled his eyes. "i mean, what kind of work? it's pretty obvious that you work." soobin had a good laugh because of yeonjun. he didn't know he was easy to annoy, like real easy. what soobin said was only two words, but those two words made yeonjun roll his eyes.

"nothing special. i'm a COO at my family's company," soobin said in response like having this kind of position at a company is nothing for him. it looked like being jobless was greater than being a COO. this guy is ridiculous.

"COO? chief operating officer? do you even know how big of an achievement in life is that and you have the guts to say that it's nothing special? you're unbelievable." yeonjun was just shocked. he never imagined facing a person with this kind of achievement in life. all this time, he thought soobin was someone who never gets busy because he could follow yeonjun all day long. he even thought of him as an idol.

soobin just chuckled. he was more focused with his cooking than talking about his job. yeonjun, on the other hand, kind of wants to know soobin more. he seems unpredictable, like no one knows anything about him. it even seems like no one even knows him.

but now that he knew about soobin being a COO, he kinda got the idea of soobin having a driver around him every time he's going somewhere alone. but when he's with us, all he brings is himself. it also explains the huge house he lives in. yeonjun thought it was a family house at first, but it's actually for soobin alone. imagine having that kind of life. but judging based on soobin's statements from earlier, yeonjun thinks he's better with his life.

"you've been talking since a while ago! where's the food?" beomgyu asked as they returned from playing along the shore. taehyun and huening kai were behind him, racing on who's going to arrive first at their cottage and taehyun won.

"the meat's ready. i don't know about the ramen," yeonjun said and rushed over near soobin to look at what soobin did to the ramen. it looked... fine? nothing unusual, and nothing special. he did well. "the ramen's ready."

and so they each got their own chairs and started getting food. they ate quietly, like no one wanted to be bothered when eating. but when one started laughing, the other four followed, making them loud as usual. but that's what makes them look like they have the best friendship.

after half an hour of just sitting down and eating, the pot where soobin cooked the ramen was empty and the plate where the meat was placed after cooking was empty too. they were maybe too hungry after playing a lot. yeonjun noticed how soobin was eating, but ate too little compared to the others. yeonjun didn't know if he was shy to eat, or if he's just in a diet. either, but he didn't bother to ask him. it's his choice.

after eating, they sat down on the sand, around a small bonfire made by them. they placed marshmallows on some sticks and held them up, nearing the flames. beomgyu was busy laughing at soobin for something no one knew why except him that he didn't notice that his marshmallow was on fire. after he blew it, nobody could see a hint of white on his marshmallow. it was black and burned.

"tell me about yourself, yeonjunie," soobin said as he was looking down at his feet and then looks up at the sky with more of a orange color. they just finished having marshmallows when they decided to have a stroll around the beach. he looks like a kid that is curious about everything else. "i want to know more about you."

"i'm just a simple person, as you can see," yeonjun responded to soobin. "and as you already know, i am a librarian. that's it."

"tell me more! it's not like that's the only thing you can say about yourself." soobin was really eager to know more about the older. yeonjun didn't know what to say. he never really shares much about himself.

"what's there to say about me? i am nothing special."

"i don't know. maybe tell me if you have siblings or what is your favorite food? or maybe tell me your favorites and what place do you want to go to, or just whatever! i just really want to know you better." soobin said.

"hmm, favorites? my favorite color is blue, i think? i don't really know what i like. if you'd ask me about my favorite ice cream in flavor, that's definitely mint chocolate. favorite food, um, i guess ramen or whatever kind of dishes associated with noodles! that's kind of it." yeonjun responded but that's too little of knowledge for soobin. he wasn't satisfied with what he knew.

"what about your siblings? do you have siblings? i have only one, an older sister." soobin asked.

yeonjun shook his head. "i'm an only child. you're lucky to have one."

"aw, at least now you have your friends with you." soobin said and looked at yeonjun. he stopped and stared. then, he smiled. smiles that were never really real when he shows it to everyone else at home and at work.

"you have me too."
