the untold story: soobin.

"do you still want to go somewhere, sir?" as soobin was about to place his airpods on both of his ears, sir dongsuk, their driver, asked him. they just went out of the lot of the company owned by soobin's parents but is being managed by his mother.

"no, uncle," soobin answered and played a song from his phone. "let's go home."

as early as six in the morning, one of the house employees woke soobin up for his mother asked them to. his mother was about to go to the company she owns and she said she'd like to talk to his son while inside the car.

and they talked. it seems like the talk was too serious for soobin's face screamed annoyance. he hates it when his mother talks so much like today, he just hates it — because no matter how her mother talks, he feels like not even a hint of love was given through her words. it's just words containing no feelings, no such heart-warming emotions. he always disliked talking to them, to her, his family.

"uncle," soobin removed one of the pair of airpods from his left ear, calling his driver, sir dongsuk, who he calls as uncle, as he was going of the car. "where are you going?"

"across this road, sir. i was asked to buy some bread there. may i leave you for a while, sir?" his driver politely asked as he opens one of the small umbrella from the back of the car to be used since it was raining hard today. soobin nodded his head, meaning yes, and the driver nodded as he walked towards the other side of the road.

with the music coming from his airpods playing loud, he was too immersed in listening and vibing to it that he can't even hear the rain drops falling hard. his eyes was closed as he sang the lyrics of the song according to the right beat and melody. as he opened his eyes, his mouth just remain parted but no words were coming out from it. he froze, not moving an inch, and was looking straight outside the car.

his eyes landed on a man standing straight next to the traffic signals, with no umbrella or anything else to cover him up from the rain. those two minutes of looking at that certain man seemed to slow. it seems like time stopped when that man caught soobin's eyes. why the hell am i staring? i need more sleep, soobin thought.

soobin blinked his eyes twice, shaking his head in the process, trying to get himself away from staring right at the man. although weirded out by his previous actions, thoughts filled his mind. there's just something about this man that caught soobin's attention and he doesn't know what it is.

unaware of his actions, he roamed his eyes around the car to find another umbrella and went out of the car, keeping up with the same man he was staring at earlier. the traffic signals turned green and all people waiting to walk across the road started walking. luckily, he walked fast and was able to shield the man from the rain using that small umbrella, ideal for one person only. however, both of them shared one umbrella.

he looked straight at the man beside him while he continued walking without even knowing where he is headed to. he was really just keeping up with a complete stranger. "who the heck walks under the rain without an umbrella?" oh, i said that out loud, didn't i?

soobin didn't remove his sight from this man beside him, and by his observations, the man looked so shock at him, his actions, and his words. the man has every reason to be shocked, though. soobin doesn't know, nor does this man know soobin. they were complete strangers yet here they are sharing the same umbrella and soobin was even talking to him.
