He's in the Rain

chapter twenty-six

"we should sleep, soobin. we'll be heading out early tomorrow," yeonjun said, about to bid goodbye to soobin who was in a video call with him. although frowning because he still wants to talk to yeonjun, soobin nodded and smiled at the other.

"alright, i'll see you tomorrow. gonna pick you up at...?"

"8 AM would do? or if you want to sleep more it's okay with me, soobin," yeonjun said as he yawns closely to the phone. soobin laughed as he saw that. "i'm really sleepy."

"8 AM it is. make sure to wake up earlier than usual 'cause you move so— oh." seeing yeonjun's eyes were shut and his phone was close to falling from his hands, soobin stopped mid-sentence. he showed a huge smile, the one that reached the eyes, seeing how angelic yeonjun looks even if he was asleep. he looks rather quiet, you wouldn't think he's the type to scream at his friends at anything, the type to glare at someone over something. you'd think he is someone too quiet to even joke around with. to make it simple, he looks pretty. that's it, no more hanging around. he just looks pretty.

"good night, yeonjunie. sweet dreams," soobin greeted a good night and took one last, but a bit long, look at yeonjun and slowly ended the video call to sleep as well. he needs to look as presentable as possible tomorrow, or else he might regret it.

the night turned into day, the dark turned into light. another morning came and it seems like today will be great. it's not sunny. in fact, it seems like it will rain again later this morning. it has been rainy these days, but neither of the friends were hating it. rains are just... anything than the word 'ordinary'. for those two individuals, it is something special.

soobin looked at the rear view mirror of his car, seeing those three friends leaning against each other, being supports for one another as they sleep peacefully. beomgyu's bag is placed on his lap while taehyun and kai's bags were at the back compartment of the car. taehyun has his arm crossed and his mouth open wide, as well as huening kai and beomgyu.

the young man looked at his right side to see the man who always caught his eyes. soobin spared a glance at yeonjun every time he gets the chance. he's busy driving but of course, couldn't help but look at yeonjun. he was leaning his head on the window beside him while sleeping, earlier insisted to just hold his bag while traveling.

"soobin." the man who was called flinched, startled at the sudden mention of his name. he looked to his side, seeing yeonjun awake but still was blinking fast enough for soobin to be given the hint that he was still quite sleepy. "let me drive. you've been driving for hours."

"no, it's fine. you can sleep more," soobin assured yeonjun and looked at him. seems like yeonjun didn't want to let soobin drive for more, but his eyes says the opposite. he's really that sleepy. it's understandable, he got at least seven hours of sleep anyway and so did soobin. but knowing how soobin is, he's heaven sent. a complete angel. he'll choose to do the work for all.

"are you sure? you haven't had that much sleep too. i think i've had enough," yeonjun was ready to remove his seat belt and ask soobin to pull over so they could exchange seats but soobin immediately but politely rejected his offer.

"it's fine, really."

"if you say so. i'll be sleeping."

"mmm, i'll wake you up once we're near." and yeonjun hummed in response to soobin.

at least an hour or two more of hitting the road and they finally arrived at the province. although all of the friends were sleeping except soobin who was driving, soobin was able to find his way to their destination with the help of the global positioning system, simple the so-called 'gps'. a few more minutes and they'll end their journey for today.
