"soobin hyung?" beomgyu asked, surprised with the sudden appearance of his friend right at his front door. soobin never went there unless he said it beforehand. despite the fact that they're neighbors, soobin doesn't really go in beomgyu's house. "if you're going to ask me where is hyung, he's not here. he went—""i know where he is. he told me," soobin cut off beomgyu and looked straight at beomgyu. soobin seems different, he seems serious. he's never actually this serious before. he's always the type with that huge smile on his face. "i came here to talk to you."
seriousness really surrounded soobin, and that is what beomgyu was confused for. plus, what would he even want to talk about with beomgyu? and out of the four, why beomgyu? beomgyu sighed. "come in."
soobin went straight to the living room but when he was about to sit down, he saw beomgyu heading towards the kitchen so he followed him. soobin sat down on one of the chairs in the kitchen counter and waited for beomgyu who was facing his fridge.
"i ran out of soda, are you okay with just fruit juice?" beomgyu asked his friend.
soobin shook his head. "i'm fine with water, gyu."
once beomgyu got a pitcher of water and two glasses, he placed it on the counter and sat down on the opposite side of where soobin was sitting. they're now facing each other. beomgyu placed his entwined hands on the counter and looked at soobin who was kind of nervous, surprisingly.
"what do you wanna talk about?" beomgyu asked his friend and waited for him to answer. he saw the movement of soobin's adam's apple, a sign of him swallowing nervously. after a few seconds, soobin poured water on both glasses and gave beomgyu the other glass while he pulled the other one towards him.
soobin cleared his throat before he spoke and answered beomgyu's question. "i'm here to clear my intentions—"
before soobin could even end his sentence, beomgyu interrupted him when he accidentally choked on his own water. he coughed and coughed which made soobin worry so he immediately stood up and patted beomgyu's back. but beomgyu pushed him lightly. "shut the fuck up, hyung! don't you dare continue what you were just about to say!"
with that, soobin's face was first filled with confusion, and now, with dejection. he didn't know what to feel. he was already feeling sad, and he hasn't even started yet. he didn't even started clearing his intentions to his friend — to his yeonjunie's first friend.
beomgyu drank another glass of water while looking at soobin like he couldn't really process something that soobin said or do. he just couldn't believe what beomgyu was thinking to himself.
"fuck, hyung. since when?" beomgyu asked the older.
"i don't know. i guess when i realized i wanted us to meet again—" soobin was interrupted.
"fuck. just what the fuck. why?" beomgyu asked soobin again. this time, soobin didn't know why has beomgyu become like this right now.
"i don't know if it was because i never met a person with a personality like that, a different one, or was it the fact that i felt freedom whenever we meet,"
"besides, i fell. that's all that matters. i don't care if i find someone who has a greater and more unique personality, all i know is that i've fallen, deeply." soobin couldn't hide the admiration he was feeling in his eyes. anyone who would look at his eyes would know his situation, that he is surely in love. in his 20 years of living in this damn world, he never felt this kind of feeling before. maybe that is why he was struck too hard — because it's his first. and he was glad it was him he had fallen for.
"argh, fuck. stop it, hyung! it's making me want to laugh!" beomgyu couldn't help but to laugh out loud. "you're too cheesy! i didn't know you already liked me months ago!"
"well, i couldn't help — wait. what the actual fuck, choi beomgyu?!" soobin suddenly shouted at beomgyu, not because he was mad but because he was surprised. too surprised that he actually shouted loud enough to stop beomgyu from laughing. soobin calmed his self down and breathed in and out until he's ready to speak once again.
"what?" the younger asked, confused. "you can't deny it, hyung. all this time i thought you liked yeonjun hyung, i guess i thought wrong!"
"because i do like him! not you, dumb ass! where the hell did you get the idea that i liked you? are you dreaming?"
oh, he just cleared his intention. soobin did it.
"wait, so i was right? ha! thank goodness! i thought you really have your eyes on me. i was damn ready to buy plane tickets and go to the other side of the world," beomgyu said which made soobin roll his eyes but laugh along with his younger friend as well.
"silly ass. i came here to tell you that i have an intention to confess my hidden feelings to yeonjun. i just wanted a piece of advice and permission from you since you're his friend. i know i shouldn't just go ahead and confess,"
"so, is it okay for me to have my eyes on your friend for a while until i get to take his hands?" soobin asked his friend, his eyes speaking for himself. he's too desperate to make yeonjun his own.
"you sound cheesy, not gonna lie. of course, hyung! you don't need my permission. it's not like i can do anything about your feelings. once you've fallen in love, you can't fall out. that depends on you and your heart." with those words spoken by beomgyu himself, soobin couldn't help but to show a huge smile to his friend. the smile that reached his eyes, and showed his attractive dimples.
"thanks, gyu. i promise not to hurt him if ever the time comes and he's finally mine," soobin said while smiling from ear to ear.
"you better make sure, hyung. i won't hesitate to do something you won't like if you make even a single tear of hurting fall down from one of his eyes," beomgyu said seriously to his friend, not even cracking a smile. he's way too serious. he just really cares for his dearest friend.
"i can never do that," soobin said and returned his wonderful smile on his face and gave beomgyu a fist bump. he was damn happy he got the approval of yeonjun's friends.
yes, he already talked to huening kai and taehyun about this. since yeonjun is on a two-week leave to go spend the days before his birthday with his family, soobin had the chance to have some talk with the others. he's intention to yeonjun is as clear as a glass, he won't let it have even a little scratch. in conclusion, he really wants yeonjun.
he just doesn't know if the latter feels the same.
but he set that aside and focused on the bright side. his main mission is to win yeonjun's heart after the time he makes his intention clear to him. that time will come, soobin is sure.
"when do you plan to confess?" beomgyu suddenly asked soobin after those serious talks.
"i've planned a surprise on his birthday, when he comes back, but i won't confess once we executed the plan. i'm going to make my feelings known minutes before his day ends. that's all on me," soobin said and smiled at the now brightly smiling beomgyu. he seems so happy for both of his friends. now that yeonjun will finally get the happiness he was longing if he acknowledges soobin's genuine feelings for him.
"i'm glad you came into his life," beomgyu uttered after the moments of silence. soobin's face showed surprise, but was replaced with a blithesome look.
"i'm more than glad that he came into my life."
