"hyung, i hate you so much! clean this up, argh." beomgyu couldn't even laugh at what's happening while yeonjun, taehyun, and huening kai were doing nothing but laughing all the way. beomgyu stood up but everything just became worse.today is another weekend — a long one, to be exact. since the friday of the week is a special non-working holiday, they agreed on having a beach trip, at somewhere far from home, though it was past summer. it's just a hangout they've been wishing to happen since summer this year in which they couldn't go to because of some reasons. so this time, they headed out, yeonjun, beomgyu, taehyun, and huening kai, and it was unfortunate that soobin wasn't there. his mother invited him to stay at their family home for the long weekend.
and at this moment, beomgyu was sending glares to yeonjun but he couldn't even get the older upset. yeonjun just kept on laughing and laughing while he was apologizing to beomgyu for accidentally spilling almost half of the bottle of the sun screen onto beomgyu's shirt. it would have been a little better if it was spilled on his skin and not on his shirt. now, beomgyu is using his right hand to remove the spilled liquid and hopefully place it back inside its bottle.
"good luck with that," taehyun was still teasing his boyfriend, not even helping beomgyu with his current problem. he grabbed his towel, sunglasses, and some other things he'd bring downstairs. "we're heading out. see you there, hyung." he didn't even greet his boyfriend goodbye. what in the damn hell is this relationship.
"come near me, twig. how would i help with you that if you won't?" without having any other choice so it would be fast enough to quickly go down and have fun, beomgyu walked towards yeonjun, stopping in front of him. using his own hands too, yeonjun tried removing the spilled sun screen and put it back into the bottle. i mean, it's kind of working. there are more and more sun screen removed as seconds passed by.
"what if soobin hyung was here?" beomgyu started. "he would not be a clumsy ass like you and spill sun screen on my shirt."
"definitely not. he would purposely spill that on you." with their conversation going on, they started laughing until they finally finished and just put some other portion of the sun screen on their skin so it wouldn't really go to waste. they grabbed their towels, sunglasses, phones, room keys and other things they wanted to bring once they are downstairs, near the sea.
"took you long enough," taehyun said as he saw beomgyu and yeonjun heading towards where they are. "hurry up. huening kai's already enjoying too much."
they placed their things inside a small hut, a bit far from the very shore of the sea, which served as a cottage for the day time. they also brought snacks in case one of them gets hungry. or maybe not. maybe all of them will get hungry and in less than half an hour those chips are just wrappers to be thrown in the trash bin.
before beomgyu and yeonjun could even walk towards the water, taehyun had already pushed them both while huening kai grabbed their shirts and led them a little far from the land. taehyun joined in too and yeah, they swam for their lives as yeonjun and beomgyu tried to catch them while in the water.
they spent all afternoon by the sea, whether they're just sitting around beach chairs or swimming far from the shore, and it was all fun for them after every busy days at work, especially that they are workers who serve many every weekday, sometimes even weekends. they deserved this three-day vacation, of course.
"i'll be going to the room and be done after 30 minutes," taehyun said and grabbed his things from the small hut they were in and was about to go already but stayed for a second. "are you sure you don't wanna go first? i can manage," beomgyu, who was asked, shook his head and let taehyun go to the room first. there was actually one room booked which is divided into two with two beds per division, but there was only one bathroom located on one side of the room.
taehyun already did go upstairs where their room was and the remaining three stayed in that small hut and just ate some snacks while waiting, talking for some moment, and used their phones for personal reasons. huening kai was just gaming with his gadget while beomgyu and yeonjun were on their social medias.
after a while, all of the friends were done showering and they all went again downstairs to eat dinner in the same hotel. the restaurant wasn't crowded that much compared to how it was seen in pictures online, maybe because it isn't really the time to go on a beach trip.
the restaurant offered food in a buffet style, where every tourists gets their food by themselves. they got seafood, meat, veggies, and more which are cooked in different styles. they also had dessert, they couldn't miss that. after eating, they went back to their room and just laid down on the two beds on one side of the room.
"we haven't talk over serious things for a while," huening kai said, looking at the calm sea from the glass window of their room near the small balcony. "i mean, when did we even talk seriously?"
"how are you?" taehyun asked as he looked at each of his friends around the room. they were so quiet, a very unusual thing to describe these friends. no one spoke for a while and the sound of the air conditioner, the waves hitting the shore, and some people talking were the things heard but not those four friends.
"i'm... doing really fine."
"of course you are," yeonjun rolled his eyes. "you have taehyun all to yourself now. god, after two damn years."
"shut up." and they laughed as beomgyu went all shy.
"i'm okay, i'm alright. still the handsome kai you know."
"who the hell is kai? i don't know him," beomgyu said, making huening kai frown and the others laugh.
"how about you, hyung?" yeonjun didn't know what to say. he's been more than happy these previous weeks and it's all thanks to his friends and his person.
'am i?' yeonjun asked himself. and with the smile displayed on his face, the answer was pretty obvious for everyone inside their room. all of them were smiling right now, like the good, old days, when they were just innocent people who knew nothing about love and now have romantic love to themselves except the youngest.
"am i? a choi soobin came into my life, how fortunate."
