the untold story: yeonjun.

"hi! i'm soomin, soobin's twin sister," well that's a relief. yeonjun would have gotten crazy, crying over soobin if this girl in front of him wasn't just his boyfriend's sibling. he would've caused drama inside that house. he was ready to fight.

yeonjun went inside the house last as his friends followed soobin's twin sister to the dining room. arriving there, soobin's parents were seated with a serious expression on each of their faces. they looked so formal, elegant, and screamed authority. so that's why beomgyu wanted me to wear these clothes. not so formal, but also not so casual looking.

lunch was over and everything went smoothly for all of them, especially for yeonjun, who almost couldn't breathe as he was feeling the stares of soobin's parents. they seem really nice, compared to what yeonjun's first impression to them was because of soobin's mother. he thought everything's going to end there for soobin and him for his mother dislikes him. he's glad and thankful it didn't.

it's the afternoon and nothing much happened to them. they were talking to each other, especially soobin's parents who were interrogating yeonjun about his life — his interests, future plans, occupation, and his school life. yeonjun's nervousness faded slowly, but in the end, he got comfortable spending his time with the parents.

for dinner, they had a barbecue night. everyone was smiling as they spend their time together in the backyard. as yeonjun was grilling the meat, he couldn't escape from all the stares from soobin and his family. he couldn't focus much on what he was cooking, but at least he didn't cause damage. he placed the cook meat in a plate and pushed it a little over at the side of the table where soobin's family were. soomin gave him a thumbs up, smiling.

"can't sleep?" yeonjun heard a voice from behind him as he was sitting near the pool, his feet feeling the slightly cold water. soobin's parents asked yeonjun and his friends if they could just sleep here for they will go somewhere tomorrow, early in the morning.

"yeah. you?" yeonjun sighed. he looked to his side to see soomin, sitting beside him, her feet also in the pool. maybe she couldn't sleep as well.

"same," she ran her fingers on one hand through her hair, looking frustrated. she then sighed, "something's bothering me."

so, yeonjun's right. when he saw soomin, he was shocked to see her, then immediately though something's bothering her for her not to fall asleep at this late hour. it's already almost one o'clock in the morning, yet here they are sitting beside a pool.

yeonjun understands, though. something's also bothering him.

"choi told me," soomin spoke after minutes of silence.

"about what?"

"what mom did that month," when yeonjun looked at him, soomin gave him a small smile which seemed apologetic. if she's apologizing in behalf of her mom, she doesn't need to, what the heck, yeonjun thought. "i'm sorry."

"you don't need to, soomin," yeonjun returned her a smile, a reassuring one. they kept silent for a while, swaying their feet back and forth in the water. "besides, that was months ago. your mom already apologized."

"she did? what the hell, when?"

"earlier. we're alright now. plus, i can't blame her if she doesn't want me for her son," yeonjun had his head down, looking at the water.

"still. what she did was wrong. glad you forgave her."

they kept quiet again, the sound of the wind and the flowing water was mostly the things they've heard. they were both staring at their own feet, feeling the wind through their hairs and skins. it was dark outside and the moon wasn't that bright, but since there are some small, not-so-bright lights, they can still see each other.

later on, yeonjun spoke. "you can tell me."

he was hearing a lot of sighs and heavy, deep breaths from the girl beside him, and hearing those gave yeonjun an idea that a problem of soomin's is really bothersome. he doesn't know if she was frustrated, angry, or sad. all he knows is that something's definitely wrong, and it won't be better for her if she keeps it all to herself. he wanted to help because maybe, maybe it can help him too.

"huh?" soomin pretended not to know what yeonjun was talking about.

"you can tell me," by those words, soomin can already tell that she can't escape from telling yeonjun what is on her mind and what was bothering her.

"i..." she can't find the right words to say or if she does have the courage to talk. however, she thought that this man deserves to know. he really does, he plays a huge part on her twin's life and happiness. "he has two weeks."

before continuing her words, soomin looked at yeonjun who was staring at the moon as she spoke. without seeing any reactions from him, she continued to speak and tell him about her problem. "he has two fucking weeks. how am i supposed to process all of that inside my damn head?"

at this point, soomin was crying his eyes out, sobbing as she tries to speak. "i don't think i am ready for that day to come, or if i will be ready. i just... i can't live without him, yeonjun. i can't wake up to a morning knowing he's nowhere to be found this world. i just can't."

soomin did nothing but cry for the past few minutes. he couldn't even look at yeonjun anymore to know his reactions about what she said because everytime he blinks, there's another batch of tears ready to fall from her eyes.

but what soomin didn't know was that yeonjun looked at the moon to not let her know that he was also in tears, nonstop. his tears were falling and falling since the moment soomin started talking about what bothers her for yeonjun had the same reason.

he knew all of that earlier on.

those two weeks he only have... he knows it. though it was hard to process just like what soomin said, he should accept it. there's nothing to do, right? they can't turn back anything at this point. two weeks is in a couple of days, they just have to live the best with him.

"if only time would stop, yeah? i wished for that for God knows how long," yeonjun trying to make his words understandable for he was obviously sobbing as more tears fell from his eyes. there's no point of him hiding what he feels from soomin anymore.

"wait..." soomin pointed at yeonjun as her lips parted. "you already knew?"

"to be honest," yeonjun nodded, biting his lips as he tried to keep his tears from falling. "yes. i knew."

two of the most important people in soobin's life were crying their hearts out while the moon was watching them from above, shining upon them although not so bright. their sobbing were what they were hearing mostly, and nothing spoke for them but sobs. sobs... tears... breaths.

they had calmed down after more minutes, they needed to anyway. they could sit there 'til the next morning while tears are running but they chose not to. if they continue, everything will turn negative. they thought that they should just enjoy every second, minute, and hour that will pass that he is still here, breathing. there's no other solution but that particular one.

"but yeonjun," soomin said as they calmed down and were now back into a casual conversation. "how did you know? he told you?"

"no, someone i know told me about it." soomin nodded at yeonjun's answer. after that, another question was brought up by her.

"when you were already aware about it, did you feel different? was soobin a pain for you since then?"

yeonjun looked at soomin as he smiled, eyes then shifted to the moon once again. soomin's question was an easy one to answer. in fact, yeonjun didn't need to think twice about his answer. without hesitations, he spoke, "soobin was never a pain for me. and if he was, he's a magnificent one."

for the first time in an hour of sitting there with soobin's twin sister, a genuine and joyful smile appeared on that good looking face of his. soomin saw that as she smiled too. "you really love my brother, don't you?"

"no words could explain it."
